Just A Few Things

Our friends, Gary and Tracy, welcomed their second son very early this morning! Welcome to the world, Logan!

********

One of my mom's closest friends, Al, passed away on Saturday night, after a long battle with cancer. She has been best friends with him since she was a child, and although many miles and years separated them (he was a former Navy Seal and worked for the CIA), they stayed in touch and remained close. She is having a very difficult time with this loss.

********

My dad is getting another cancer treatment today. They inject medicine directly into his bladder. He has been cancer free since they removed the tumor, so this is just a preventative measure.

********

Lexie finally got a Halloween costume. She's going to be a ladybug...I gave her two options and forced her to make a decision. She is terrified of Halloween decorations, so Trick or Treating will be interesting! The second she sees something scary, she clings to me and lets out a long, low "EEEEEEEK." Poor kid is terrified, and won't even walk past the Halloween store, or go down the Halloween Aisles.

********

I'm going to be babysitting again for my best friend's boys. I watched Tyler since he was an infant, and stopped in June, when Jocie had her baby. I'm going to be busy on Thursdays, but I'm really looking forward to spending time with the boys!

********

It is cold here! I saw some snow flurries this morning, and snow is in the forecast for tomorrow and Sunday. We completely skipped fall and went to winter. It's so strange, because Dylan was wearing shorts to school the last week of September, then we had one week of Fall weather. Now this?!?!?

********

Dylan just got his first book order from school. It's amazing how long a stack of (relatively cheap) books can entertain my kids! They were well worth the money spent!

********

Have a great weekend, everybody! We're going to have another busy one!

  3. Yea, we're gonna have a busy weekend, too.

Lexie sounds like Riley --- Riley hates the Halloween aisle. Difference is that Riley is TEN!?! So don't expect Lexie to just outgrow it. It could last a while.

Have a great busy weekend. Find time to rest!

  4. 1. I love book orders. Everytime the kids I nanny bring home a book order form I always order something. They are my favorites.

    2. I am glad your dad is cancer free. We are dealing with cancer in my father in law ( something I have not blogged about and need to ) and it has been a rough road.

    3. Hope you enjoy the time with your friends children. I love being able to stay with my daughter but also make money for my family!
