AppleFest 2009

Every year since I've met Grant, we've gone to the annual AppleFest in his hometown of Mars. I was really looking forward to going this year, but was feeling under the weather (another cold...seriously???). We decided to go, despite my cold.

It is a one day festival on Main Street, in Mars, and it draws 25,000+ people. It is always overcrowded to the point where you can barely walk, so it was a bit much for me this year. The kids had fun though, which made me happy!

We parked at Grant's parent's house, and walked into town with his mom and dad. Once there, we met up with Grant's brother, my sister, Andrea, and my nephews, Brady and Brandon.

Our first stop was at the giant, inflatable slide. It's always a big hit!

Lexie watched from her daddy's arms. No way was she navigating that monster by herself!

Brandon watched from Annie's arms.

A trip to Mars would not be complete without climbing on the spaceship!

We spent about an hour at the festival, then headed out with armloads of goodies. I scored a tutu with a matching bow, fairy wings, and a wand for a mere $10 for Lexie! She also left with a sheep beanie baby and a toy lizard. Dylan got a ninja sword, a crab beanie baby, a toy millipede, and a toy snake. They also got a big bag of cotton candy to share. 3/4 of that bag is now gone! And, of course, apple cider!

Judging by the smile on Lexie's face on the walk back, I'd definitely say they had fun!
