Month Six
It's so hard to believe, but my sweet baby girl turned 6 months old on February 3rd!

MILESTONES:
-Sitting up, unsupported, for long periods of time.
-Rolling to get to where you want to go...quickly!
-Doing "crunches" in an attempt to go from laying down to sitting.
-Pulling knees up under you in an attempt at crawling.
-Blowing raspberries while eating.

TOOTH COUNT:
2 bottom teeth!

COMFORTS:
You began to play with my hair while you're nursing, and play with your ears while falling asleep. You have turned into a thumbsucker, complete with your finger hooked over your nose. Even though our future dentist bills may be huge, it's absolutely adorable!

EATING:
-You are still breastfed. You tend to eat every 4 hours, but you're still a very quick nurser. You're usually done in under 5 minutes, unless you start to fall asleep. You won't drink from a bottle, so I don't even bother pumping anymore.
-You still aren't a huge fan of solids. Sometimes you are interested, sometimes you refuse them. I have a freezer full of homemade foods, so you've been getting a wide variety to try!

SLEEPING:
-We lucked out in this department! You are a great sleeper! You take 2-3 long naps a day, and sleep 12 hours at night. After 2 hours of being awake during the day, you tend to get sleepy.

LIKES:
-Pumpkin baby food.
-Looking out the window.
-Jumping in your jumperoo.
-Playing with your Sophie the Giraffe toy.
-Laughing at your brother and sister.
-Splashing in the tub.
-Snuggling with Mama.

DISLIKES:
-Having a dirty diaper.
-Getting your nose wiped.

STATS:
-Size 2 diaper.
-3-6 month and some 6-9 month clothes.
-18 lbs, 28.5 inches long. (50-75th percentile for weight and above the 97th percentile in height).

PERSONALITY:
You are the sweetest, happiest, most easy-going baby! Crying is still very rare for you. You are a joy to be around!

CUTENESS FACTOR:
Through the roof! From your light blond fluffy mohawk to your big blue eyes to your button nose to your dimpled cheeks to your big grin...you've got me hooked, baby girl!

Dear Liliana,
It has been 6 months since you entered the world, and brightened our lives. I can't imagine my world without you in it!
When you smile, you smile with all your being. You lift my spirits every morning by beaming at me. There is something so special about you, and that is your joy. Your happiness is contagious!
The first half of your first year has flown by, and is now in the past. Gone is my tiny newborn. But that's okay. Because every single day with you is a blessing.
I love you, Lilybug. Always and forever.
Love, Mommy

Keep smiling, little bugaboo!!!

The Monster (High) Mash
Last night, we concluded Lexie's birthday week by celebrating her birthday with our good friends!
Even though her party wasn't until the evening, Lexie was looking forward to it all day.

Luckily, her cousin Aubrey came over early in the afternoon to play. She ended up staying for the party!
The party went really well, and everybody had a good time! The kids, ranging in age from 6 months to 12 years, had fun playing, and the adults chatted and snacked on the party food. Lexie loved all of her wonderful gifts, and was thrilled with another Monster High birthday cake!

It got late, and everybody began to head home. Our friends took Dylan home with them for a sleepover, and Aubrey decided to spend the night again (the second Saturday night in a row!). Almost everybody left, and the remaining kids grew tired. Actually, one guest never even woke up. He was sleeping when he arrived, and was sleeping when he left 5 hours later!

The birthday girl, her cousin, Aubrey, and her friend, Tyler, curled up in Dylan's bed to watch a movie. Shortly after, I found them all partied out!

Lexie had an amazing 5th birthday with her family and friends. She enjoyed a full week of celebrations! I can't believe she's FIVE!

The Best Birthday Ever!
That is, according to Lexie!

We went out of our way to make this birthday extra special for Lexie. She had a year full of big changes, so she deserved it!
The celebration started the night before, with an early birthday present! She loved her Furry Frenzy Hamster wheel set, and had fun playing with it until bedtime!

Lexie jumped out of bed yesterday morning. She was so excited about her birthday!

She was greeted with a gift bag full of lip glosses (she's slightly obsessed) and Lalaloopsy body lotions and lip balms.

After sending Dylan off to school, we got the girls ready to go, and took Lexie to breakfast. She chose Dunkin Donuts!

It was her snack day/class party at school, so we stopped to buy an extra special snack of cupcakes and goldfish. Lexie brought home a special birthday hat, birthday pencil, and a card signed by all of her classmates! As an added bonus, she got to bring the class pet (a stuffed dog), Steeler, home! Steeler was by her side for the remainder of the day!

After school was over, we had a playdate at the library!

Once we got home, we baked her birthday cake!

Then she got to open another birthday present. It was a case for her DSi and a Monster High DS game!

She played her game for a few minutes, but all the celebrating wore her out!

She woke up grumpy, but by that time, Dylan was home, and cheered her up with his present to her: A Lalaloopsy Little Sisters doll! She gave him a bonk on the head in return!

Lexie got to choose where to go out to eat for her birthday dinner. She chose a local restaurant, The Deckhouse. It's a great place for kids! A TV at the table, a magician wandering around, and a special birthday wheel to spin! After eating dinner, watching Spongebob, and being wowed by some magic tricks, Lexie got to spin the birthday wheel. She was lucky enough to win $5!

We came home, and took some pictures with the birthday girl!

Finally, it was time to open the rest of her presents!!!

We got her a tiny Lalaloopsy doll, a Percy Jackson (her favorite movie) figure, a Lego Friends set, a Barbie sisters doll and tent, a Furry Frenzies Scoot and Scurry City, and a Barbie Camper! She said her favorite gift was the Percy Jackson Medusa figure (a $2.98 clearance find...HA!).
After presents, we sang Happy Birthday to Lexie. She was very surprised to see a new Monster High Doll on the cake, and then cracked up as it fell off the cake!

As she was getting ready for bed, Lexie declared, "This was the best. birthday. EVER!!!"
And just like that, she's five.
