28 Weeks with Baby #4

I'm officially in the third trimester!!!

How far along: 28 Weeks

Due Date:  September 6, 2013

Total Weight Gained:
None.  I think I'm near my pre-pregnancy weight, but I haven't been weighed since my last appointment.

How big is baby?  Our sweet pea
weighs 2 1/4 pounds and measures 14.8 inches long.

How baby is growing:  Baby #4
can blink his/her eyes, which now sport lashes. With the eyesight developing, he/she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He/She is also developing billions of neurons in the brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.  {from babycenter.com}

Maternity Clothes: I'm still wearing my regular clothes, and my regular pants are still loose. Most of my regular shirts still fit, but I did buy some longer shirts in my regular size to get me few the next few months.

Stretch Marks:  None!  I've never had one before, so I'm hoping that trend continues!

Sleep: I have reached the stage where sleep isn't much fun.  Surprisingly, I still only wake up once a night to use the bathroom, but I have Braxton Hicks contractions through the night, and I can't get comfortable.

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week:
Feeling my sweet baby move all the time.  It's the best part of pregnancy!

Movement:  Baby #4 likes to somersault, stretch, punch, and kick.  It feels like he/she keeps changing position, from sideways and low to feet up in my ribs!

Food Cravings:  None, but I definitely prefer to eat fruit (especially watermelon) and sweets.

Food Aversions:
Almost everything.

Morning Sickness:
I still have hyperemesis, and I'm taking daily medication for it.  It's not nearly as bad as it was in the first 20 weeks, and I've honestly gotten used to being sick every day.  The past almost 24 hours have been rough, though.

Gender: It's our 4th surprise!!!  We have never found out the gender of our babies!

Names: The girl name is chosen, but we still have a long list of boy names and nothing sounds perfect!

Symptoms:  Hyperemesis  (morning (ALL DAY) sickness), Braxton Hicks contractions (irritable uterus), back pain, pressure, abdominal pain, anemia, exhaustion,  peeing more frequently, and irritability

ExerciseTreadmill workouts Monday-Friday this week. I've been interval training between a fast walk and slow run, while varying the incline.  Getting daily exercise is the only thing that makes me feel like I'm in control right now.

What I miss: Feeling normal.  I have been sick since January 3rd!

What I'm looking forward to:
My appointment on Monday.  The every 2 week appointments have begun!

  1. You're adorable! Exercise was the only thing that made me feel better too. People used to look at me like I was crazy when I said that. Good luck, mama! Almost there! So, Evans birthday is August 23rd and Avery's is September 8th. Maybe you could land on one of those? :)

  2. When do you typically get on the treadmill? I have mine in the living room but haven't found the best time to use it. Especially now that it's summer vacation and all 4 are home!

  7. Sorry you've been feeling so bad. :(

You look great! I'm amazed you're not in maternity clothes and haven't gained weight. I'm 7 weeks today and my pants are already feeling very tight ha!
