How far along: 27 Weeks
Due Date: September 6, 2013
Total Weight Gained: None.
How big is baby? Our
sweet pea weighs almost 2 lbs and is around 14 1/2 inches long.
How baby is growing: Baby #4 is sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing the eyes,
and perhaps even sucking the fingers. His/Her brain is very active now. While the lungs are still
immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical
help — if he/she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements to a case of baby hiccups. {from babycenter.com}
Maternity Clothes: I'm still wearing my regular clothes, and my regular pants are still loose. I am wearing longer shirts now, but not maternity.
Stretch Marks: None! I've never had one before, so I'm hoping that trend continues!
Sleep: Still not having much luck in the sleep department. I can't seem to get comfortable, and I'm
having Braxton Hick's contractions all night. I always wake up around
4-6 AM with an urgent need to pee, and I always wake up sore.
Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week: Feeling how strong this baby is becoming. Also realizing how quickly his/her arrival is approaching!
Movement: This baby is a little acrobat! He/She likes to somersault, stretch, punch, kick, and use my cervix as a trampoline!
Food Cravings: None, but I definitely prefer to eat fruit (especially watermelon) and sweets.
Food Aversions: Almost everything.
Morning Sickness: I still have hyperemesis,
and I'm taking daily medication for it. It's not nearly as bad as it was in the first 20 weeks, but still not fair to be sick every single day!
Gender: It's
our 4th surprise!!! We have never found out the gender of our babies!
Names: The girl name is chosen, but we still have a long list of boy names and nothing sounds perfect!
Symptoms: Hyperemesis (morning (ALL DAY) sickness), Braxton Hicks contractions (irritable uterus), back pain, abdominal pain, anemia, exhaustion, peeing more frequently, and irritability.
Exercise: Treadmill workouts Monday-Friday this week. I'm no longer able to run at a steady pace without contracting, so I'm done with that until I reach full term!
What I miss: Feeling normal. I have been sick since January 3rd!
What I'm looking forward to: Meeting our sweet baby!
