Anniversary, Short and Sweet

img012

14 years ago, on September 9th, Grant and I got married! If you do the math, we were really young.  We had many ups and many downs over the years.  Marriage is HARD work, and we quickly realized that.  There were days when we drove each other crazy (we still have those days!), and there were times when the easier option would have been to just give up and walk away.  Instead, we fought for our marriage.  14 years later, here we are!  I'm so thankful for my best friend, so thankful for the life we built together, and so thankful for the 4 beautiful children he gave me.

We celebrated the same way many couples with 4 children celebrate.  As soon as he got home from work, we jumped in the car, and headed to Olive Garden.  The kids were left in Papa's very capable hands.   We enjoyed a delicious dinner, rescued a free dresser in excellent condition on the side of the road, then arrived home to chaos and big smiles.  As soon as the kids went to bed, we changed into comfy clothes, curled up on the couch, and ate our dessert.  It wasn't an elaborate day, but it was a good one!

We have come a long way since our wedding day!
