Family, Friends, and Fun

Another busy weekend has come to an end.  I used to get stressed over how busy our weekends were, but I've learned to embrace them.  Our weekends are full of family, friends, and fun.  That's how they should be!

We kicked off our Saturday with a birthday party for our friend's daughter, Audrey.  Audrey just turned 13.  I can still picture her sweet little toddler face!  It's hard to believe she's now a teenager.  She's just beautiful, inside and out.

It was a super hot day.  The kids spent the day in the pool, and I split my time between taking Lily in the pool and watching Lily as she ate...and ate...and ate.

We had so much fun!

After the party, we went to our friend Tracy's house.   She was hosting a picnic for our blogger/twitter group of moms and their families.  Only half of our group could make it, but we still managed to have a good time!

The big kids kept busy making snow cones while we waited for everyone to arrive.

Batman even joined the party.

Lily enjoyed her first popsicle.  I think she was a fan.

Our baby girls are becoming great friends!

There was a very scary moment, when Victoria fell, and hit her head on the cement, but she was a trooper!

Despite that incident, everybody had fun!

It was nice to spend time with friends, involve the husbands, and watch our kids play!  A big thank you to Tracy for hosting!  We can't wait for our next playdate!

As we were leaving, we saw the most beautiful sunset.  It almost looked like a beach sunset.  Grant tried to find a good spot to pull over so I could snap a picture.  Some of the colors were fading by that time, but it was still beautiful!

It was a fun, busy, exhausting day!

Today, after visiting Grant's family, we went to my sister's house to celebrate my nephew's 7th birthday!  We're going to miss his birthday party next week while we're at the beach, so our solution was to spend time with him on his actual birthday!

I was there on the day he was born, and held him just moments later.  I can't believe he's 7.  These kids-all of them-are growing up too fast!

We celebrated with pizza, an ice cream cake, and lots of playing!  I think he had a good day!

The boys were having so much fun and didn't want to stop playing, so Dylan ended up staying to spend the night!

Lexie and Lily fell asleep on the way home, so it was a very easy bedtime for us, and Grant and I got to relax.  It was a nice end to our wonderful weekend!

  6. So much fun! Being busy with family and friends is a wonderful thing. I think about when I get exhausted from going and going and know that there will be a time in the future when things won't be so busy and I will have time to reflect. I will be so happy to look back on all the fabulous things we did. You really have fun and family is what it is all about!

  8. I would like to rent Batman on days when I would love to have my baby sit on my lap & snuggle, hopefully we can work out a deal soon. Had a great time, minus the fall.
