4th of July Weekend

We had a fun and busy holiday weekend!

Friday was calm. I took the kids to the park, but they didn't last long, because it was hot! That evening, our friend, Father Rob, came over to watch a movie. We watched "The Rite" and I have to say, it was interesting watching it with a Priest! We all enjoyed it! I'm hardly ever home on Friday nights, so it was nice to just relax!

We had a bunch of errands to do on Saturday, and the kids got their faces painted at one of our stops. They were so excited!

That afternoon, we started a painting project in our living room/main hallway, while my dad took the kids to their very first movie at a movie theater! My mom came over to help paint, and we got it done in just a few hours. My mom is awesome-she also cleaned and dusted our entire living room and kitchen, and washed our windows!

When my dad and the kids came back, we had dinner together. The kids saw "Mr. Popper's Penguins" and loved it! They both did really well at their first movie!

On Sunday, Lexie and I put a second coat of paint on the walls while Grant and Dylan helped prepare Grant's Nannie's house for their picnic. Lexie was a great little helper, and we quickly finished! She asked if I wanted to remove my shirt, too, but I politely declined. ;)

We celebrated 4th of July at Grant's family's annual picnic. Lots of food and lots of fireworks! This was the first year that we didn't go to a parade or go see fireworks, but the kids didn't seem to notice. They were happy with the fireworks Grant provided!

We had a fun 4th of July, and didn't even make it home until midnight! It was a good weekend!
