Our Five Ring Circus: Thursday

Thursday

{1} Dylan started baseball today. The evening rush has begun again! He has practice twice a week until opening day (April 30th). On those days, practice starts at 5...which means he gets off the bus, eats a quick snack, then we rush off to practice, and dinner has to wait until we get home at 6:45. Right after that, there's only enough time for a quick bath before bed. I forgot what these evenings were like!

The practice tonight was held at the high school tennis courts, because the field was still muddy from all the rain. Dylan was so happy to see a few of his former teammates and a Pre-K friend on his team. Even though I spent the entire time chasing after Lexie, Grant told me he did really well, and Dylan seemed to have a great time!

{2} It was warm out today. Spring is back! Hallelujah!

{3} Lexie is so stinkin' cute...and sneaky!

She pulled out her doctors kit today, and made me her patient. Not only did she see a turtle in my ear (funny, the pediatrician saw one in her ear at her 4 year well exam!), but she then determined that I needed to be covered up with blankets. After doing that, she kissed my cheek, and once she had me where she wanted me, she curled up next to me and said, "Mommy, how about if we take a nap together on the couch?"

{4} I love getting stuff in the mail! Yesterday, my free Moby wrap arrived (review coming soon), and today, a belated birthday present from Grant and the kids!

{5} We have a crazy busy, but incredibly fun weekend coming up! Tomorrow night, we're going to the Pirates game. The kids have never been to a professional baseball game! On Saturday morning, we are taking the kids to the circus. They have no clue, so they're really going to be excited! Afterward, we're going to go visit my parents, because Grant has plans with his friends. On Sunday, after visiting Grant's family, we're going to a birthday party at BounceU. It's a big gym filled with inflatable climbers, slides, and games. Dylan went there last year, but Lexie has never been there. I think we're going to have two tired, but happy kids on Sunday night!

  3. I would die and go to heaven if B asked me to take a nap with him on the couch. Normally, if i ask him to take a nap, he says "no momma. play, play". haha!

  4. You are so busy all the time!!

How in the world do kids with working parents play for your baseball league? There's no way we could ever make it for a 5 p.m. practice or game!! Thank goodness ours don't start until 5:30, and that's pushing it!

  6. I wish that I knew that you wanted to go to the Pirate game. My church was giving away 30 tickets to anyone who wanted them, and still had 30 after two weeks, so I could have gotten as many as you wanted for free. We are taking the girls to the circus on Sunday! I can't wait to see Bella's face when she sees the elephants and all the flying acrobats. Have a wonderful weekend. Hope Dylan has a great baseball season to. <3

  9. I can't think of anything cozier than an impromptu couch nap! And I'm curious to hear if you like the Moby - I wished I had gotten one with John, and tried out a woven wrap when he was older. I'm planning to start out with a Moby this time around :)
