We had an exciting weekend! Dylan and Lexie got to attend their first professional baseball game (Pittsburgh Pirates) and go to the circus for the first time!
The kids were so excited to start their busy weekend!
As soon as Grant got home, we ate a quick dinner, and then drove into the city for the Pirates game! Lexie fell asleep, but since we always seems to drive past downtown to other parts of the city, Dylan was super excited to drive through the tall buildings.
Friday night was $1 ticket/popcorn/hot dog night, and each fan got a free t-shirt and poster.
We met our friends Amber, Rex, Jack, Gabe, and Lindsey at the game! It had been raining all day, so we expected the game to be canceled. Luckily, the rain stopped about 2 hours before the game! It was chilly out (about 40), but felt colder because the open part of the park faces the river. The view of the city from our seats was spectacular! It really is a beautiful ball park!
Lexie and Dylan had so much fun with their buddy Jack! Their favorite part was watching the Pierogie races, closely followed by the fireworks that were set off after one of the Pirates got a home run!
We all had a great time, but decided to head out after the 7th inning stretch! The game was tied at the time, but the Pirates did end up winning!
This afternoon, we surprised Dylan and Lexie with a trip to the circus! They had no idea that we were going, and we didn't even tell them where we were until we spotted the first clown at the entrance. They were so excited!!!
We settled in our seats with popcorn, a light up sword, and an inflatable pony, and waited for the show to start.
The kids were absolutely amazed by what they saw! Grant and I had a great time, too!
Dylan said his favorite part was the fight between Spiderman and Green Goblin, Lexie loved the monkeys, I liked the elephants, and Grant liked the acrobats on the big double wheel! I personally think the kids loved the entire show! ;)
They were all smiles as we left the city!
Tonight, we were all exhausted! We actually attended a birthday party on our way home from the circus, so we didn't get home until bedtime. It was so beautiful out (over 80 degrees!), so we let the kids play outside for a few minutes before getting ready for bed!
Lexie quickly fell asleep clutching her circus souvenir and Dylan declared it was the "best weekend EVER!"
Wow that does sound like the best weekend ever. Can I come live with you?
ReplyDeleteI can see why Dylan thought it was the best weekend ever!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's the first time I've ever seen Spidey at the circus - fun!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend! Great pics. Jonah has that same sword...I hope Dylan's doesn't sound like J's, though. His makes the most incredibly annoying sounds! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I bet they had a blast! Love all the pictures and spiderman.. my son would have went crazy and talked about that for a week. Ha!

ReplyDeleteThe entire weekend was packed with fun! You sure know how to live!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your shots at the circus were great, so you must have a sweet zoom lens!
looks like a SUPER FUN weekend! :) Good thing they did enjoy the circus. My little tot, doesnt want to get anywhere near a clown so even if we wanted to see KAOS (circus show), we're a bit hesitant. Because we dont know if she will enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week sissy!
hugs!
The circus would be awesome! He looks so proud wearing his Pirates hat!

ReplyDeleteThat does sound like the best weekend ever! We left the baseball game we went to during the 7th inning...by then the kids had pretty much lost interest in the game:)
ReplyDeleteWow..you guys had fun-filled weekend!

Totally the best weekend ever! How fun! Was it the Barnum and Bailey circus? I am very ashamed to admit that my boys have never been to the circus. I think I am going to add that to the list of Things To Do this year!!
