Today

{1} Dylan came home from school, excited to show me his card from Hazel. Ah, young love!

{2} The rain has kept us indoors. This means I have to provide lots of messy activities for Lexie, to keep her from getting bored.

{3} Dylan actually let Lexie join in on his afternoon Wii game. She was thrilled!

{4} I managed to get Lexie into jeans again. This time we had to revert to the compromise: tutu over the jeans.

{5} I spent less than $20 on Dylan's monthly book order. That's a first! We love books, and I'm more than happy to buy them!

{6} My dad had some pre-surgical tests done today. He is scheduled to get his carotid arteries cleared on the 31st. He will stay overnight, and if they think he recovered well, he will stay in the hospital for the triple bypass surgery. If he needs more time to recover, he will be sent home, and the bypass surgery will be scheduled later. I'm really nervous and worried about it!

{7} I think we need a new furnace. It has been stinking up the house for the past few days. It's really old, though, so it may be time.

{8} The all-day sickness is really hard to deal with today. I feel like I've had a stomach virus for over 7 weeks.

  10. Maybe, eventually, Lexie will finally just like jeans?? I remember my BFF growing up hated jeans, and then, all of a sudden, one day she loved them.

    Feel better soon!

  11. Man I'm sorry you feel so sick! Boo! :(

Elly wears tutu's over jeans too...she looks so adorable in them.

Hazel is such a cute name! Young love!! I once met a little girl named Helen. All these names that I think are such old lady names...but duh they had to be young once right? HA!

  12. Ironman gets cards from "Tulip" occasionally. They're sweet.

I really hope you aren't sick the whole time!!! I will pray that it ends like clockwork at 13 weeks, and I won't tell you that mine did both times b/c that might make you feel bad. ;)

Trying to get caught up on what I've missed today, throughout the day, I'm sure I'll be back later! :)

  13. How cute is that card!!?? I was goingt o comment that Lexie was wearing jeans since she is such a dress girl. How funny that she had to wear the tutu over them!

  14. Stef, my dad had triple bypass in 2001. It was amazing just seeing him in the recovery room. His skin was so pink! I hadn't realized that his colour was so gray. His favourite thing was his pillow they gave him to hug to his chest when he had to do the coughing. It really helps! I hope your dad does as well.
