I thought life would calm down with the arrival of the New Year. Apparently, I was wrong! Instead, life just got busier. My weeks are now packed!
This weekend was busy as usual. I spent some time with my parents on Friday. My dad celebrated his 71st birthday on Thursday. Dylan got to see him, but Lexie and I didn't, so we celebrated again on Friday. After a S-L-O-W drive home on snow-covered roads, my kids were slap happy, and not quite ready for bed!
On Saturday, we packed up our Christmas decorations. The kids went outside to play in the snow with Grant, while I worked inside. I was a bit sad to put away everything, but it was nice to reclaim our living room!
After that, we headed to a birthday party for Dylan and Lexie's buddy, Jack. Jack and Dylan love playing together, and Jack came up with a great solution. He said that if he and Lexie got married, he and Dylan could be brothers! Lexie? Not so convinced!
They kids passed out after a late night partying with their buddies. Today, we spent time with Grant's family, watching the playoffs. Grant is just a bit obsessed with football! ;)
Surprisingly, the kids still had a ton of energy, even after their busy weekend!
Now, it's bedtime for my sweet little rugrats. Mommy needs a break before another busy week begins!
Same old busy is right, isn't it? I know the feeling! Keep having fun and hopefully feeling better!
ReplyDeleteyou are always so busy.. i dont know how you do it.. hope life slows down a little with the 3rd so you can chill at home :)
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling, we are super busy too!
ReplyDeleteI understand! The day school started back it seemed like everything was in fast forward again!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures. I know our life hasn't slowed down any either. I'm constantly trying to figure out where "relaxing" can fit in.
ReplyDeleteBuddy has those same pirate PJ's. He got them for Christmas from my inlaws!
Cute pics! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that your kiddos are so full of spunk! Adorable!!
ReplyDeleteThat moment when you get to reclaim you living room is really a great feeling. It is almost like the day you moved in for the first time! ;-)
Sounds like a busy but fun weekend. I am dying to see some snow, but I don't think that's going to happen unless of course I go some place other than Houston! Darn.
ReplyDeleteI took down Christmas in my house on Saturday too. IT was sad and I was EXHAUSTED by the time I was done, but you're right it's been a nice feeling to reclaim my living areas. I had them up for over a month so I feel like I had plenty of time to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting anxious/nervous around here for our big playoff game this weekend. I just can't stand to lose to the Ravens!!!
WOW! by the sound of it you really do need a break! We haven't stopped running since before Christmas and I'm quite convinced that I won't slow down for a while!!
