It was a spur of the moment decision, but tonight turned into family movie night! Toy Story was going to be on TV, and we decided to watch it.
Dylan recently watched part of Toy Story, and really liked it. To be honest, I have only watched bits and pieces of it, and I've never seen Toy Story 2. So we curled up on the couch with homemade strawberry-banana smoothies, and gave it a shot.
Grant is a movie buff and owns a huge collection of DVD's. The kids aren't quite like him yet. They can't really make it through a movie. They constantly leave the room, get sidetracked by toys, or just say they are done watching. Surprisingly, Dylan sat through the entire movie, and it even held Lexie's attention!
Lexie ended up going to bed after the first one, but we decided to let Dylan stay up late to watch the second one. Once again, he was really into it, and sat through the movie! I loved the movies, too. I guess I really was missing out. ;)
Since Dylan loved them so much, we are considering taking him to see Toy Story 3. He has not been to a movie theater yet, mainly because full-length movies don't typically hold his attention. After watching how excited he was about Toy Story and Toy Story 2, I think we're going to take him to his first movie!
It turned out to be a great night. I love when that happens!
Toy Story is one of my favorites. We had friends (who are kidless) over on Saturday night and we all watched Toy Story as well. LOL
ReplyDeleteNow, Cars, is my favorite Disney movie!!
Cars and Up are my favorites :) It's fun to take them to the theater. Ironman can't wait for toystory 3!
ReplyDeleteI love Toy Story! A family movie night sounds JUST perfect!
ReplyDeleteWe did the same thing, but we didn't watch the second one. I'm thinking of taking Alaina to see Shrek 4, but not sure if she will sit through the whole thing or not. We shall see. Dylan is the perfect age. I'm sure he will have a blast!
ReplyDeleteI love when that happens, too. I haven't seen either Toy Story, so I really appreciate your recommendation. I think it sounds perfect for my daughter. If I left it up to my husband, he'd take her to every movie available (easy "babysitting" maybe?)
ReplyDeleteWe are taking Reagan to see it this weekend for Father's Day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun family night in. I love the Toy Story movies!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love a good movie night with the family! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWe love the Toy Story movies ... Griffin is so into Buzz and Woody! I think he's still to young for the theater.
ReplyDeleteAidyn went to bed early and then Ethan & I watched Toy Story 2 since we hadn't seen it haha. We're definitely going to take Aidyn to see Toy Story 3! They're such cute movies.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest is 10, and I have never seen ALL of either of the Toy Story movies! My favorite is Monsters Inc.
ReplyDeleteweve watched the last installment and for sure like us, Dylan and Lexie would love it!
