Today, we began a new adventure in parenthood. We entered the world of team sports!
Dylan has been eagerly waiting for T-Ball to begin, and today was the day. (Technically, yesterday was supposed to be the day, but it got postponed due to the bad weather.)
Dylan pulled on his baseball pants and cleats, slung his gym bag over his shoulder, and headed off to his first T-Ball practice.
It was so surreal to be sitting around the field with all the other parents. I always expected him to play team sports, but I never imagined the day would come so fast.
He had a great time! He practiced skills with the other 9 players on his team. (Funny fact: 3 out of the 10 players are named Aidan!) Practice was so funny to watch. I admit, I giggled my way through it! My husband compared it to a Charlie Chaplin movie.
They have 3 more practices, and then it's Opening Day, complete with photos and a parade to the field.
Dylan is officially a Mars Tiger...and proud of it!
Chase starts t-ball in 2 weeks. He can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking forward to baseball season this year. Last year (Buddy's first year) was comical. I hope he remembers what to do this year.
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing a bunch of baseball clad tykes around lately and it did make me sad that this is our first year we are not doing any spring baseball...I just have too much else going on right now. But yes, in all the baseball teams my son has been on there have always been a bunch of aidans! LOL. (I love the name aidan, but yes its popular) For girls, I swear everyone patrick's age is named isabella or bella...lol.
ReplyDeleteAll those Aidan's -- seems like there were a lot of mamas watching Sex and The City. The age of the boy coincides with when Carrie was dating Aiden, played by cutie John Corbett. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteSome of my best memories from childhood are hanging out at the ballpark with my friends.
Awww....what cutie!!!
