Our Easter 2010
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday! The day was perfectly warm and sunny.
Lexie woke up early, and was so confused when she found the trail of jelly beans. I had to keep her from following the trail until Dylan woke up. As soon as he walked out, she exclaimed, "Dylan! The Easter Bunny left a BIG mess!"
The kids eagerly followed the trail to the front closet (aka Grant's office), and were pleasantly surprised by their Easter Basket goodies.
I made a big breakfast, which we ate quickly, and then we headed to church. We met Nannie and two of Grant's out-of-town relatives at church, and enjoyed a wonderful service. It truly was beautiful. The church was warm and filled with sunlight, the kids were on their best behavior, and everybody was smiling. It was a great day to celebrate!
After church, we headed to Nannie's house for a bit. We had tea, and the kids got more goodies. Nannie left them each a bunny figure and dollar bill on the table, and Marnie gave them each a cookie in a collectible tin. MawNaw and PapPap spoiled them a bit more!
After our visit with Nannie, we went to Grant's other grandma's house for an early dinner. I didn't take too many pictures there, because the kids were too busy running around with cousins! It was nice to just sit and relax!
We then headed to my parent's house for dinner. We started out with an egg hunt in their yard.
Nina and Papa were eager to give the kids their Easter bags! Dylan loved his dragon pajamas, and Lexie loved her Disney Princess house.
After dinner, Grant, Benno, and I spent some time playing with the kids, in the yard.
Benno entertained us with his final magic show before we left. Even though Benno was coming over to my sister's house with us, Dylan began clinging to him. He did not want Uncle Benno to leave.
We spent a few hours at my sister's house. Once again, Benno entertained everyone with his magic tricks. Lexie enjoyed hanging out with a handicapped duck that lives in their garage.
Even though the kids were having fun playing with their cousins, and I was having fun talking to my siblings, we knew we had to get home. It was creeping up on 10 pm, and we had been on the go since 9 am.
Saying goodbye to Benno was incredibly difficult for both Dylan and I. We were both in tears, and Dylan couldn't stop crying. Luckily, rediscovering his Easter basket seemed to help until bedtime, when he cried himself to sleep, in my arms.
It was a wonderful Easter, which we got to spend with loved ones. It was a bit sad at the end, but I'm so happy that Benno was here to celebrate with us. It made it extra special.
After our busy Easter Sunday, my sweet, little bunnies slept in peace.
