It was one of those days.
I was busting my rear cleaning the house, while the kids were playing in their rooms. I could hear them both, and assumed everything was peachy.
Then I saw this:
I'd like to say this was a first time incident. But it's not. This happens at least once a week. Lexie is my messy child.
She leaves a path of destruction wherever she goes.
Note the fact that Dylan just has two toys out. He is not a messy child. He willingly cleans up after himself.
Lexie and I had a talk as I was cleaning up the remainder of the mess tonight. I'm going to make some new clean-up rules for her to follow. I'm hoping it works. (Any tips would be greatly appreciated!)
--------------------
Dylan had his last T-Ball practice tonight. Saturday is Opening Day!
He has improved so much since his first practice. It's hard for the little ones to get the hang of the rules of the game, but he is, and he loves it!
Tonight, Lexie discovered the playground and huge sandbox at the park Dylan plays in. She was thrilled, and kept announcing that she was at the beach! (Oh, how I wish we really were!)
She was so cute running around in the sand that it made up for the huge mess she made and the food battle we had at dinner. One thing about Lexie: she manages to have fun wherever she goes!
Ooooo my Elly is a messy little thing too! At least once a month I go in her room and organize things just so and tell her this is where the dolls go, the Pet Shop toys, etc and ya it stays that way for about a week. Sighhh. =) Good luck to Dylan on his first game!! He's adorable! Lexies little outfits are too cute!
ReplyDeleteAidyn is incredibly messy too! He's good with cleaning it up but it never fails that as soon as it's all cleaned up he tears right back into it. It's never ending.
ReplyDeleteWhat if you scaled back her toys for awhile? I did that w/ Salem once, and he barely even noticed, and then there were less toys for him to deal with and make a mess.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend boxing up half her toys and putting them in the basement or something. Then you can switch them every week or two. I do that. Graham acts likes it's Christmas on toy switch day. He seems to play with his toys better that way instead of plaowing through them.
ReplyDeleteBTW, how did you like that Pens game last night?? haha
Oh my good Heavens. I would have had a heart attack with that mess. My boys aren't nearly that bad, but Buddy is definitely worse than Buster (who likes to clean up...weird kid!).
ReplyDeleteHOLY COW!!! that's a lot of toys!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou may have to have a purge day soon :) {send the ponies to me--hehe}
LOL, Jonah is the exact same way. His room always looks like a Toys R Us explosion. I'd box up half and maybe rotate the toys every few weeks or send a big box of them over to Grandma's or something.
ReplyDeleteJonah actually did do a great job cleaning his room last Saturday-because he was told he couldn't have his neighbor friends in to play until it was cleaned up.
Oh gosh....Lexie doesnt have many toys at all :)...hah
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that Blake is going to be the same way...leaving a path of destruction!! Sorry no tips for you yet.....
but they sure are cute :)
Oh my, my ocd-ness just kicked in looking at that picture...lol She is cute thought. Thank god right:)
ReplyDeleteumm i think the girl has a few too many toys! lol :) Alex is horrible at picking up!
ReplyDeleteOMG that is a lot of toys! I have the same problem with Claire. It gets so messy I don't even know where to start picking it up! Dylan looks so cute with his baseball gear!
ReplyDeleteAbby is the same destructive little girl that Lexie seems to be. She leaves messes everywhere!! She also has that same adorable outfit!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I can't get over her room! I can't stand clutter, that would drive me CRAZY!!
