We Love Pumpkins!

One of our favorite things to do in October is go to the pumpkin patch! Yesterday, we did just that.

We've been attending this particular pumpkin patch for 5 or 6 years. Even though there are plenty more around us, we love this one, and it has become a Halloween tradition. Last year, I remember rubbing my belly and hoping that a new family member would be with us for our trip this year. My wish came true, and even though Lily slept through most of her first trip to the pumpkin patch, we were thrilled to have her there with us!

When we first got there, the kids wanted to crawl through the straw tunnel.

Next, we took a hayride and enjoyed the spectacular view of the farm!

When we got off the hayride, we went through the petting zoo. Lexie loved the chicks, Dylan loved the pigs, and I loved the baby cow!

One of the things the kids love to do at the pumpkin patch is get their faces painted!

Finally, it was time to head to the patch to pick our pumpkins!

In the patch, they have huge hay bales decorated with jack 'o lantern faces. Dylan and Lexie love to climb on them!

We left the pumpkin patch with three perfect pumpkins-one for each kid!

Before leaving, we admired the adorable baby goats!

Lily hung out with her daddy while I took the kids in the straw tunnel one last time.

It was a beautiful Fall day! A perfect day for the pumpkin patch!

We can't wait to go back next year!

We spent the rest of our Saturday at my best friend's house. Dylan, Lexie, and Lily fell asleep on the way home. I think they were exhausted from all the fun!

We had a perfectly lazy Sunday, spent with our families. My dad surprised us with a visit (and food for dinner) while we were making brunch, so he joined us.

After brunch, we spent the afternoon with Grant's family. If I'm not stalking the kids with my camera, Grant's mom is!

The posed pictures are adorable, but it's the candid ones that are the sweetest. They are the ones that capture real life, and the memories I want to keep.

After all the visiting, we headed home to watch the Steelers win their game!

  9. We used to have a place just like that about 1 1/2 hrs from us that we went to every year, it was sooo much fun! 2 years ago they closed and I am so bummed because there is nothing else like it around us and I won't be able to experience that same fun with Cole. It just isnt the same thing going to the grocery store for a pumpkin :(
Glad to see that you all had a great time, even if 1 of you slept through most of it. Hahaha :)

  11. Aw, it sounds like a perfect fall weekend. Going to the pumpkin patch is one of my favorite traditions too. I can't get enough of tutus on baby girls, so I love Lily's little halloween outfit. And Lexie's tights are awesome! If Nate were here, I'm sure he'd be most impressed with Dylan's batman face :)

  16. We seriously need a pumpkin patch that is that cool around us! It looks so fun. (I had to just let out a little squeal-- Addison was wearing the exact same pumpkin outfit today that Lily is wearing in the pictures. They're meant to be besties. ;)
