Mother's Day Weekend

We had a really nice Mother's Day weekend! We actually had some time to relax, because our weekend wasn't overbooked.

After a lazy Saturday morning and afternoon, Dylan had a baseball game. It was held at a field in a neighboring school district, and although it was nearby, we could not find the field. It wasn't marked in any way! We later found out that we weren't the only ones with that problem!

Along the way, we did get to see a fox. They are in the area, but I've only seen them a few times. The kids thought it was so cool! It crossed the road in front of us, and we pulled up alongside it, and it stared back at us.

We finally found the place we were supposed to be, and had to hurry toward the field, because we were already 10 minutes late to the game. As we approached the field, Dylan's coach told him he was up to bat. Despite being rushed out of the car and toward the field, Dylan quickly threw on his helmet, grabbed his bat, stepped up to plate, and hit the first pitch!

Luckily, the rain held off, so we could enjoy the game. Even Lexie had fun! She spent the time picking flowers.

Dylan played a good game, and scored 3 times. The game went a lot quicker this time, too!

He was so excited when his coaches gave him a ticket for a free hot dog, cupcake, and drink to enjoy after the game!

Immediately after the game, our friends came over for dinner. It was really good! I made rigatoni, garlic bread, and crescent rolls, and they brought salad and angel food cake with strawberries and cool whip. We had a great evening with them!

On Mother's Day, I got to stay in bed until 11:30. Dylan and Lexie ran in to greet me the moment I woke up, and gave me drawings they had made that morning. I love my sweeties!

We had a big brunch, and spent the entire afternoon relaxing. It was so nice to be able to read while the kids played!

I didn't get to see my mom yesterday, but I did talk to her on the phone. I just had dinner with her on Friday night, but I still felt bad. She had to work, though, and her present from all of us-a kindle-isn't here yet. I'm going to load it up with books the moment it arrives at my house, and take it to her!

We did go visit Grant's mom that evening. It was beautiful outside, so we took a walk through the neighborhood, and the kids played outdoors. We ended up eating dinner at their house before heading home for the evening.

Even though we didn't do much, I had a great Mother's Day with my kiddos! Even Nugget kept reminding me of his/her presence with all the flipping and kicking. I can't wait to spend next Mother's Day with Dylan, Lexie, and my newest little love!

  10. LOL, this post made me laugh. First because when I saw the picture of Dylan playing ball, I thought man he looks so old! And then I thought about when I used to play ball...then my parents pulled me out becasue I used to sit in the outfield and pick flowers and do cartwheels...which was your next pic of Lexie. So cute. Anyway, sounds like you had a great weekend! Happy belated Mother's Day!
