Whirlwind

We had a whirlwind of a weekend. I was busy from Friday morning until the kids went to bed tonight. I need a day off just to recover from it! ;)

I spent Saturday afternoon with my wonderful friend, Annie! I had 5 quiet and relaxing kid-free hours with her. It was so nice to step out of the mom role for a while. We browsed through some stores, and then headed for a coffee shop. The coffee shop ended up being closed, so we took a long walk through the city, and found an antique shop in a Victorian house. There also happened to be a gorgeous Tea Room in the house. Annie and I sipped our tea for over an hour, and chatted about everything. It was wonderful!

Shortly after I returned home, we headed to my brother-in-law's surprise 40th Birthday party!

We all had a great time! The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins!

My nephew, Brandon (aka Hambone), was getting over being sick, but he managed to make it outside for a bit, to play with his puppy.

Lexie had some icing off the cake, and ended up looking like a vampire.

She spent the rest of the night obsessing over Brady and Brandon's hamster. That adorable creature happens to be a murderer. She killed her former roommate.

It was an exciting night, complete with a toad hunt and Dylan falling into the fire pit. He was covered, head-to-toe, in ash. After I cleaned him up, I attempted to cheer him and his bickering cousins up, by demonstrating how to do cartwheels, in the family room. Brandon has some natural talent. After a few tries, the boy was doing some mighty fine round-offs. My sister is very appreciative. She texted me at 9:00 tonight, and told me that he was still doing cartwheels. I love being the fun aunt! ;)

It was a late night for us. The kids fell asleep in the car, and we passed out shortly after coming home!

Today was just as busy. We had lunch at nannie's, then my mom and I did some shopping (in the rain-blah). The kids and I had dinner with my parents, and then, we finally came home!

I wish weekends were longer!

  2. So now does Lexie want a hamster? LOL My parents bought the boys those zhu zhu pets and they drive me bonkers.

I almost died when you said Dylan fell into the fire pit. I thought you meant while there was a fire going. Thank goodness I was wrong!

  9. I can't believe Dylan fell into the fire pit! Sounds like something my Ethan would do. (He's my most clumsy one.) Sounds and looks like y'all had a great weekend. I wish they were longer too. I miss my husband sooooo much when he goes to work and leaves me all alone with all the BOYS (and I'm really out numbered)!!!

  11. I love a little girl time minus the kiddos. Unfortunately I won't be getting much of it until I stop breast feeding, but I still hold out hope! :o)
