On The Wings Of A Butterfly, I Shall Soar

*Don't forget to enter my Bea's Bows Giveaway!*

Every time I see a butterfly, I am reminded of my grandma. She loved butterflies, and passed the love on to me. Whenever I see one nearby, I like to think that it's her way of saying hello.

The kids and I were outside, enjoying a beautiful day, when a little butterfly began flying all around us. For several minutes, it circled us, almost as if it were playing, before it came to a stop on Lexie's hand.

I ran to get the camera, thinking that I would miss capturing that moment. But, no. This butterfly sat on Lexie's hand for at least 5 minutes. She was enthralled!

Dylan really wanted to hold the butterfly, but I was sure it was going to fly away. Surprisingly, when he held his finger up to the butterfly, it climbed right on.

When I put my finger out, it climbed over to me. Unbelievable!

We were all amazed and touched by the interaction with the butterfly. I finally lifted my finger in the air, and the little butterfly flew away, to continue on it's journey. At that moment, all I could think of was my Grandma, and I whispered hello.

--------------------

We had a great day! I came up with a loose summer schedule, and it feels really good to have a schedule again. We spent most of our afternoon outside.

When Lexie ran off in tears, I knew we had to head inside for a nap. That little girl breaks my heart when she gets upset.

My finger is still hurting (and will be for the next few weeks, as I'm told), and I'm seriously concerned about the fate of my fingernails. The thought of losing a fingernail is repulsive, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. There is a lot of pressure under both nails.

Despite the sore finger, I began running again, after a 2 week break. It felt so good to run again! I always enjoy my little breaks, but don't realize how much I miss running until I start back up!

After dinner, we headed back outside to play some more. The kids and the dog had a blast racing around the yard together. They ended up collapsing in a heap. There is just something so cute about kids and their dogs!

After some ice cream and a bath, the kids headed to bed. Of course, Dylan stayed awake for hours, in bed, trying to pull out his loose tooth. It is hanging on by a thread! After a year of having a loose tooth, I think the tooth fairy is finally going to be visiting our house this week!

Lexie and Dylan are sooo cute!!! on the butterfly thingy, awww that might be your Grandma :) we were told before that whenever a white butterfly visited you, it might be any of your dearests that had passed away already. So every time we see a white butterfly in our garden, I believe that she's my mom :)

  9. That is so neat about the butterfly, because when my sister was at our house the same thing happened to us.

Kel was telling Ethan that he shouldn't catch them because she heard that butterflies are to remind us of loved ones who passed on like our mommy and his grandma.

As soon as she told him that this butterfly appeared and flew around all of us. Then just like that it was gone. Wow!

I hope your finger feels better. Ouch! Looks sore.
