I am SO glad it's the weekend. You know that smiley face emoji with the eyes bulging out? That's me right now! With four kids in four different schools, activities starting and Liam's round of yearly appointments, I'm pretty much living in my SUV. Don't even get me started on the abundance of paperwork and all the money the schools want from us right now! I'm overwhelmed and exhausted to say the least!
It has been a while since I wrote a Friday Favorites post and I have a lot of fun things to share this week!

In honor of our 16th wedding anniversary today my first favorite is this guy! We got married really young. I don't think anybody thought we would make it this far but here we are 16 years later with four kids! I am so proud of Grant. He works so hard for his family (big things are in the works) and he's a great dad to Dylan, Lexie, Lily and Liam!

You know that saying about how rabbits multiply? It's true! Lexie's dream since she was two years old was to have a pet rabbit. My dad took her to a farm on Sunday and that pet rabbit turned into TWO pet rabbits. In all fairness they were going to end up as food (not kidding) so I'm looking at it as a pet rescue. And they are REALLY cute and so sweet. Meet Fluffy and Arctic, our 6 week old FEMALE bunnies. (We triple checked so they don't multiply again!) We are currently working on house-training them.

I am a lifelong reader and I encourage all of my children to read every single day.
I was recently introduced to Join the StoryBox which is a monthly subscription service of children's books delivered to your home. The packages, which contain 2 books for kids and a parent guide, are put together by a speech-language pathologist so you know you are receiving something good! There are 3 package types: The Board Books Package (birth-2.5) contains 2 board books + tips for reading with your baby. The Picture Books Package (2.5-6) contains 2 picture books + a parent guide. The Family Package contains a board book, a picture book, a reading to baby tips card + the parent guide.
What I love most about this service is that they give back! An amount from each subscription price is used to purchase books and educational materials for kids with disabilities and kids from low-income families. As a mom I appreciated the quality of the books and the thought that went into the Family Package we received for review purposes. Lily and Liam were so excited to discover new favorite books to put on their bookshelf!

Speaking of books, I just started Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll. I'm only a few pages in but I really like it so far!

This is MY favorite pet. He's now 30+ years old and he isn't doing very well. My heart is breaking. Everyone keeps telling me to be grateful that he lived such a long life so far but no...I'm just not ready to say goodbye.

Cute outfit shoutouts!
Earlier this week I shared Dylan, Lexie and Lily's Back to School style with French Toast.
Lily also rocked a Kindergarten Diva outfit and hair clip from one of our favorite online boutiques: The HairBow Company! She LOVES Kindergarten so far. The day she wore this outfit she climbed in the car with her hoodie still on and told me she was so hot. I told her she was allowed to take off her hoodie at school and she replied, "I know that. But my shirt says that I am the Kindergarten Diva and I didn't want the other kids to see it and steal my diva status." Okay.
Liam isn't loving school as much as his big sister but he sure looks cute!

I am officially a dance mom! Both of my girls started tonight. We will be logging in 3 hours every Thursday night at the dance studio. Lexie is taking hip hop and Lily is taking tap, ballet, jazz and acro.

I'm wrapping up my list with a picture of my four favorite kids on Labor Day!
What are you loving this week?

Linking up for Friday Favorites // Oh Hey Friday // High Five For FRIDAY
There is so much about this post I love! Dance mom...adorable! The book subscription sounds awesome. I did Bookroo for a little while and enjoyed that. I'm a sucker for anything that has to do with reading. :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo much to say! First, Happy Anniversary!! 16 years is quite an accomplishment! I wish you many many more!
ReplyDeleteThose bunnies are adorable! My kids would freak if we would let them get bunnies but our dog is a handful right now, LOL
That monthly book subscription sounds really neat, I'm going to check that out!
And that outfit Liam is wearing, adorable!! I love that toddler shirt, his jeans, everything!
So much to comment on! Happy anniversary - we're hitting 16 years this year too. OMG the bunnies! I can't believe you are house training them - I did not know that was possible! I love their little feet! The crayons book looks great - we love the first one of that series. And yay for being a dance mom! Gabbie has been dancing since she was 4. This year she's doing ballet, tap, and lyrical, including competition!
ReplyDeleteFour kids in FOUR SCHOOLS!? Bless you! We had three in three for awhile last year and it was ROUGH. But if anyone can handle it, I know you can!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome list of favorites! We got a bunny when I was in 2nd grade and immediately named him Thumper because we are creative like that. He lived until I was a JUNIOR in COLLEGE! Sweet Thumper was awesome and so were my parents for letting us have him!
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best pictures! I love that Kindergarten Diva outfit. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI am overwhelmed with the amount of paperwork and fees my daughter needs lately. Just last night she asked for $50 for a concert ticket, $45 for a yearbook, $20 for a school shirt and $15 for a supply fee. So much for public schools being free, right?
I hope you have a great weekend and a fantastic time celebrating your 16 years! Congratulations!
Oh my gosh, the bunnies are adorable! I love Lily's outfit, too cute!
ReplyDeleteI read The Luckiest Girl Alive this summer. It had lots of twists!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!!
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Liam is so cute!! He def. has a modeling career! Hopefully next week at school will be a little better for him. It's a big adjustment but he's a strong little boy and will get through this change. :)
OH my gosh, those bunnies are darling! One of my friends had bunnies growing up and I always loved going to her house to play with them.
ReplyDeleteI guess I need to read Luckiest Girl Alive... I've seen it everywhere in blogland lately! I'm almost done with my current book, so it will be time for something new really soon!
Have a great weekend!
Oh my word! BUNNIES!!! So let me know how the house training thing works out because I know another little girls who would also love a bunny and I am not completely opposed to the idea either.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I hope y'all have an amazing weekend.
Ahhh it was great reading this and getting caught up! I grew up with rabbits for pets...oh the stories lol fun times. My heart just breaks for you and your horse. We have two, one is 12 and one is 20. The kids are super adorable per the usual! AND...Happiest Anniversary!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your horse. Two years ago, I lost my dog who I owned since I was 14. They are definitely family members. I got married at 22, which a lot of people think is young these days, and I have no regrets. Life does not have one cookie-cutter pattern that works for everyone, and I can't control when my husband entered my life.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! Here's wishing you many more great years together. That Kindergarten Diva outfit is adorable.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys had an amazing anniversary! 16 years is a great accomplishment! Target is killing it lately with their seasonal/holiday stuff in the Dollar Spot! We are going to “boo” Mason’s cousins this year and I was able to stock up on a bunch of stuff! Mason has been begging for a rabbit. Fluffy and Arctic are adorable. Maybe a dumb question, but how do you house train a rabbit? I am so curious! I’m praying for your sweet horse. It’s always so hard to say goodbye to pets because they become like family. I’ve never heard of acro as far as dancing goes. I am going to have to google that one! I hope they love dance. You get the best pictures of your kids. How do you get them all to cooperate? I can’t even do it with one.
