Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!

It's the end of an insanely busy week and I'm relieved! I think I slept a total of 10 hours over the past four days. (I wish I was kidding.) My main goal for the weekend is to try to get a good night's sleep!

The end of the school year is always so busy. This week, we went to Lily's art show, Lily had her last day of school, Liam had his in-depth preschool services evaluation, and later this morning, we'll be attending Lily's end of the school year picnic. That's just the big stuff...so much more was crammed into our week!

Although it was busy, this week was full of great news!  I'm not allowed to share the news just yet, but I will be able to share soon.  (Just for the record, I AM NOT pregnant.  Everyone always assumes that when I mention that I have news!)

For now, I can share a few of my current favorite things:

{ONE}

I just adore this adorable little guy!  If you missed my Hemming Birds Boutique review and giveaway, there's still plenty of time to enter. I'm giving away an Charlie Snap Bib, like the one Liam is wearing in this picture, in the print of your choice. This bib is AWESOME! You can enter HERE.

We had one of our favorite meals recently.  This Crockpot Taco Soup is so easy to make and it's delicious! Plus, everyone in my family loves it, so that's an instant win for me!

CROCKPOT TACO SOUP

1 lb chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
1 large can of dark red kidney beans
1 can of corn, drained
1 can of petite diced tomatoes
1 can of black beans
1 can of tomato sauce
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 packet of ranch dressing mix.

Directions: Dump everything into the Crockpot and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. Top with shredded cheese and tortilla chips. DONE.

This picture sums up my afternoons with Lily and Liam.  As busy as they are, I can feel these days slipping away much too quickly. I'm trying to hold onto them with all my might!

I have another amazing review and giveaway going up next week! It's for Wood Watches by JORD. Isn't this watch gorgeous?!? I was immediately drawn to it on their site, and it's even more beautiful than I expected. I absolutely love it!

I started assembling the last day of school summer fun packs!  I don't spend much money at all (think Target Dollar Spot), but the kids love them!

Speaking of last days of school, Lily is officially a preschool graduate!  I truly can't believe how quickly this year went. It's even more difficult to believe she is going to Kindergarten in the Fall!

I received the sweetest Mother's Day package from Johnsonville!  When I was contacted on Twitter, I assumed I would be getting a coupon or a free product.  I was blown away by this sweet gesture. What a great company!

I start every single morning off with a cup of hot tea! One of my closest friends gave me this gorgeous teacup (along with some tea bags and honey spoons) as a gift.  Pretty teacups make mornings much more tolerable!

This girl! She is truly beautiful inside and out! And her yard work outfit is fantastic.  Why wouldn't you wear a fancy dress and winter boots for that dirty job?!?

I finally bought a new book that was on my reading list this week and it is so good. (Lemon donuts and my favorite smoothie are great additions to my reading time!) I only get a few minutes a day to read right now, which is tough, because this book is so difficult to put down!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! How will you be spending it?

  1. There is so much to like in this post! The picture and Lilly and Liam is just adorable and totally represents them. :) I just bought a few things for Cam's last day of preschool next week. So simple and cheap (from Dollar Tree), but he's going to love it. Makes it all worth it. Lexie is quite the fashionista. And yay for Lilly. I know that's tough on mom, but she seems so ready.

That portable Pyrex dish/holder looks amazing - I need one of those. How sweet of Johnsonville to send you that package! I need to try The Girl on the Train. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Have a great weekend! I hope you get some sleep!

  7. How cute is that honey spoon? I've never seen those! My mom use to give me a small end of the year gift every day the last week of school, and I've passed that tradition on to my kids. I can't wait to see your packages! I also can't wait for your big news!! Have a great weekend. I hope you get some rest!

  9. What a week friend. I hope you got the rest that you need and deserve. I love the idea of summer fun packs. Targets Dollar spot had some really great things that would be perfect to add AND I LOVE that watch. So unique and pretty. I know a lot of bloggers that have been working with Jord lately.
