'Twas the Weekend Before Halloween

We had weekend full of Halloween fun!

On Saturday, we picked up our friends and went to our township's Halloween party.  It was held at the park we usually walk and play at, and it was FREEZING.  The party was held in a pavilion on top of a hill, and the wind was whipping!



It was perfect for the kids...pumpkins to paint, games to play, candy to be eaten, and a magic show.







The kids made it through everything quickly, then huddled up in the pavilion, waiting for the magic show to begin.  My friend, Amber, was sitting with our kids, so I decided to take the pumpkins down to the SUV.  While I was gone, Lily ended up winning first place in the costume contest!  She got a medal and a goody bag, and I missed it!  She was an adorable poodle, though!

Halfway through the magic show, the girls started to freeze, so Amber took them and the baby to my car.  I finally convinced the boys to leave by bribing them with a trip to McDonald's!  It ended up being a win-win situation for all of us.  The kids got to play and we got to warm up!

Even though we didn't make it to the end, it was a cute event for the kids!

 


After dinner at McDonald's, we dropped out friends off, then returned home to get ready for a Halloween Party.  That evening, Grant and our friend, Rex, co-hosted a party at Rex's house.  All our friends came.  True to form, the guys ended up in the basement, and the women stayed upstairs with the kids!  I didn't take many pictures, but we had a lot of fun!

Liam and Violet finally met!  Liam is 10 weeks old, and Violet is 1 week old.  Liam and Violet are the same length, and she is over a pound heavier.  They were unimpressed with each other, but oh so cute!!!



The party didn't wind down until very late.  Lexie and our friend, Becca, were the first two to tap out!



The kids fell asleep, and I stayed up talking to my friends.  Before I knew it, it was 3:30 AM!  Even though I hadn't been drinking at all (not a drinker...ever!), I decided to spend the night.

After 3 hours on the couch, a scary movie, and very little sleep, I decided to wake up the kids and head home! I left Grant and Dylan behind, and took the girls and Liam home at 6:30 AM.  Luckily, they all went back to bed for several more hours!

Despite the late night, and few hours of sleep, it was a fun weekend!
