Last year we didn't get a chance to go to the pumpkin patch or celebrate Halloween. Grant's dad was very sick and passed away in the middle of October, so it put a damper on things.
We made visiting the pumpkin patch a priority this year. Dylan and Lexie were so excited to go, and I was excited for Lily to experience it this time. The last time we went, she was only 2 months old! This Saturday, we decided to defy tradition, and visit a different one! It was a perfect, unseasonably warm October day!
As soon as we got to the farm, we got in line for the hayride. I had to run back to the car, and when I returned, our good friends, Gary and Tracy, had arrived with their family! Grant decided to move to the back of the line so we could go on the hayride with them.
As we climbed onto the hayride, we were each given an apple from their orchard. My apple lovers were thrilled!
The hayride was very bouncy, but the kids loved it! Once we reached the pumpkin patch, the kids ran straight to the corn maze! Dylan ran ahead with Dom, but the girls stayed with us.
When we came out of the maze, the view of the farm below was breathtaking!
The kids had already run over to the wooden cutouts, so I quickly snapped a few pictures.
Finally...the search for the perfect pumpkins began!
Lily was so adorable! She ran from pumpkin to pumpkin, shouting out "pumpkin!" and bent over to inspect each one.
Just when we had the perfect pumpkin, another was found! Then Grant and the girls went in search of a "ghost" pumpkin.
We managed to find four of the cutest pumpkins in the patch!
Once the pumpkins had been found, we got in line to take a hayride back. My kids thought our trip was more fun with their friends!
(Picture below borrowed from Tracy)
We enjoyed the bumpy hayride back down.
Liam slept the entire time, but I had to get some pictures of the littlest pumpkin in the patch!
The kids ran off to the straw barn to play and slide.
We finished by documenting just how tall everyone was this year.
I can't wait to watch them grow!
We had so much fun! We loaded up our car with pumpkins and tired kids. Our trip to the pumpkin patch was a huge success!
We can't wait to go back!
That pumpkin farm looks beautiful. Great pictures
