Our Five Ring Circus: Circuit Training

Circuit Training

Most days, I feel like an activity coordinator for my kids. I don't like Lexie to watch a lot of TV when she's home from preschool, and Lily is at the point where she's getting bored just laying around. I spend my days trying to keep them busy!

My living room, that I once worked so hard to rid of kid items, now resembles the baby gear aisle at Babies R Us. Lily still doesn't stay awake for more than an hour and a half, but while she's awake, the circuit training begins.

It starts in the boppy, with her watching me as I work.

Then we move on to the jumperoo.

Once she's worn out from jumping, she chills in her bouncer for a bit.

When she's ready to exercise again, she spends some time on her play mat.

Finally, she's ready to rock in her swing.

When she gets tired, she just wants to eat and snuggle with mommy.

While she naps, I get to spend some time with Lexie.

This usually involves a lot of art projects.

Lexie is pretty good at keeping busy, as long as art supplies and books are involved. She doesn't nap anymore, but when she gets tired, she likes to lay down on top of the couch and catch some rays.

Soon after...it starts all over.

The key to successful circuit training? Three outfit changes in a matter of hours.

And finally...my relief pitcher comes home!

  1. And all those distractions are well worth some clutter in the living room in my opinion! At one time, we had two swings, two exersaucers, a jumperoo, and two overhead jungle gym things in our living room. The benefits of twins ;-) There was just barely room to walk....

  10. When I first saw the blog title, I became jealous...thinking.."oh my, she has 3 kids and has time to workout, what is my excuse?" haha...they I started reading and can totally relate, except things like baby swings and saucers have been replaced with music tables and walkers...the circuit training never ends..haha!

  14. Too cute! Sounds like my day - I have a 3 and 4 year old (both boys) who one goes to preschool in the morning and the other in the afternoon. And I have a 4 month old baby girl who goes from swing to bouncer, to me, to playmat and repeat!
