Friday Fun

As Nugget's due date draws closer, I've been making an effort to spend a lot of time with Dylan and Lexie before life gets a bit crazier! I got plenty of quality time with my baby girl today!

I watch two of my nephews (ages 7.5 and almost 6) every Monday and Friday for a few hours. While they were here this morning, I learned some valuable lessons.

{1} It's difficult to get anything done with a 7, 6, 5, and 4 year old running around.
{2} Four kids can go through an entire box of juice pouches in an hour.
{3} Boys are gross. It's bad enough cleaning pee off the toilet from 1 boy. Add in 2 more and it's just disgusting. Aim, boys, aim!

Needless to say, by the time they left, with Dylan in tow, I was exhausted! I didn't have much pregnancy exhaustion in the first trimester, but it's sure kicking my butt now! After they left, I convinced Lexie to take a nap with me. I rarely nap, but I really needed it today. It was so nice to snuggle up with Lexie and get some rest!

Grant had some plans after work, so I decided to go on a dinner and shopping "date" with my baby girl! She chose McDonald's for dinner, and quietly sat next to me, eating her chicken nuggets and drinking her chocolate milk. I passed on the nasty fast food, but shared a milkshake with my beautiful date!

After she ate, I let her play outside on the playset for a few minutes before we set off on our 3 hour shopping trip. I have $250 worth of gift cards in my wallet, but I don't need anything. I didn't have much luck today. With Lexie's help, I did end up bringing home 2 pairs of summer pajamas with one gift card, and 3 shirts with Kohl's cash. Of course, she ended up with new shoes and a little doll! She's a great shopping buddy!

While we were shopping, Dylan was having a great time at the Lego Kidsfest with my sister, brother-in-law, and nephews!

I'm so happy Dylan had so much fun at the Lego Kidsfest! I can't wait to see the pictures my sister took. Lexie and I had a great mommy-daughter bonding night. I loved spending time with my baby girl!

Once home, the kids ended their night with a movie and sleepover in Dylan's room. Actually it hasn't ended yet. They're still wide awake! I, however, am ready for bed!

  2. I've gotta hand it to you for having the babysitting patience while pregnant. I'm not sure I could handle the 4 kids even when not pregnant :D
