The Spillway is fascinating...and slightly disgusting. I used to love to go feed the fish as a kid. This time, my kids got to feed them!
The Spillway is a place where thousands of huge fish and birds congregate, because people come to feed them all day. There are so many fish crammed into one spot, that the birds are known to walk on top of them. Dylan was amazed when he accidentally dropped an entire hot dog bun in the water and one of the fish swallowed it whole!
Our time at the Spillway ended with the kids devouring big bags of cotton candy.
We stopped at the fish hatchery for a quick visit.
We ended our trip with an early dinner, and then headed home! We all had a fun day!
Good grief! I've never seen so many fish in my life! I love the one with it's mouth open!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I have never seen that many fish in one place before! Kinda creepy! I could see how they would swallow a hot dog bun whole if they all look like that one photo with the mouth open!

ReplyDeleteI have NEVER seen that many fish piled on top of one another like that...wait 'til I show my husband who loves to fish! That one with its mouth wide open will give me nightmares tonight :)

I have to say that "slightly disgusting" is an understatement......I am a bit frightened of fish....I think that place would send me right over the edge!! BUT, glad y'all had fun :)

ReplyDeleteWow, that is a TON of fish. Not to mention that fish's mouth has cracked me up, it's the ugliest fish that I have ever seen! haha. But at least your kiddos look as precious as always!
