Lexie and I were washing dishes tonight, side by side. I was staring out the window, watching it rain.
Lexie rinsed the last dish, dried her hands on a towel, and asked, "Mama, can I go outside?"
"No, honey, it's raining."
She looked up at me. "The rain won't bother me."
I stared at her eager, expectant face, smiled, and told her to get her shoes on. She skipped out of the room, and returned with her rain boots. When I opened the front door, she looked at me to see if I was serious, and then shot out the door and into the yard.
And she began to dance.
I absolutely adore my baby girl. I love her carefree spirit. Nothing deters her from having fun!
Not even the rain.
I felt so happy and blessed as I watched her dance and run in the rain.
She lives life to the fullest.
Tonight, she reminded me to do the same.
SO precious! Good for you for letting her play in the rain! We went outside the other day in the rain and took pictures and it was so fun :)
