Mr. New Year
Dylan has been wearing his "Happy New Year" hat since New Years Eve! He even wore it while he played in the snow, today! Sadly, the hat did not do so well in the snow. He's going to be bummed when we have to throw it away.
It was cold today, and it snowed a lot. I did NOT want to go outside, but Dylan was begging to go sledding. We reached a compromise. I would stand at the kitchen window and watch him as he played in our yard. ;) I stayed warm, and had a great time laughing at him, and he had a great time playing in the snow! It was a win-win situation!
I had rough night last night. For two weeks, I stayed up between 2-4 AM, and woke up after 10. I had a difficult time going back to a regular schedule. I think the kids did, too. I finally fell asleep around 2 AM. At 2:30 AM, I heard, "Mommmmmmmy! I can't find Bun Bun!" Out of bed to find Bun Bun and return him to Lexie's loving arms. At 3:00 AM, "MOMMMMY, where's Strawberry Shortcake?" Out of bed to find Shortcake. At 4:00 AM, "Mommy, can you come with me to the bathroom? I'm afraid of the dark." Out of bed to accompany Dylan to the bathroom. At 4:30 AM, "Mommy, I need my glass of water." I begged Dylan to find it, but he left it up to me. I finally fell back asleep around 5, only to be woken up around 6 AM by the snow plows passing by. And finally, up for good at 7. UGH! They never do this, but of course had to do it on the night I was trying to get back to my normal schedule!
I was dreading returning to reality, but to be honest, it feels good. I made some returns/exchanges while Dylan was in school and went for a run. I put running on hold for over a month due to the craziness of preparing for Christmas. It felt great to run again! I even managed to put away some Christmas decorations tonight. It feels good to have my kitchen back! I think the fiber optic Christmas tree is going to stay by the table for a while. It's so pretty!
So, we made it through our return to reality. Reality is good. We can do this! Bring it on, 2010! *Okay, so only bring on the good stuff! ;)
Okay so obviously I haven't been over for a visit in awhile, when did you change up your blog? Probably FOREVER ago, huh, well it looks great!
ReplyDeleteYour kiddos remind me so much of my kiddos, they are just so darn CUTE! Love Dylan out in the snow with his precious hat, isn't it funny how they attach themselves to something and just can't let it go? BigBoy was the same with his darn Santa Hat, he has been wearing it practically non-stop. I might need to have the hat "retire to the farm" or go for a very long vacation to visit his Santa hat cousins in the North Pole or something like that.... ;)

i have been so bad about blogging & blog reading, but i am going to get caught up! it snowed here today & i take all my pictures from the window as well!
ReplyDeleteI agree-- only bring on the good stuff 2010!! :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully, you'll have a relaxing night tonight with plenty of sleep!
I have never had one of those hats make it through a New Years Party let alone a trip in the snow! So funny what they can get attached to!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you had a rough night. Buster was miserable Sunday night, which meant I was miserable as well. And last night wasn't much better.
ReplyDeleteI hope last night was better for you!
Doesn't sound like a good night but he looks so cute out there in the snow with his new years hat!!! I hope you have much better nights in 2010 :)
ReplyDeleteSorry you had such a rough night, I hate that! We had a rough night last night, Jim finally got sick so he was up a lot, hopefully it will be done with our family now!!
ReplyDeleteDylan is SO cute! I have yet to take Jimmy out in the snow, I am just being lazy, but today we have enough to make it worth while...maybe later. ;-)
Oh you sound SO MUCH LIKE ME. We were up til 2 or 3 am EVERY night for the two weeks that I was off. And I slept til at LEAST 10:30 every morning. It was GLORIOUS! I'm totally a night owl, and not a morning person.
ReplyDeleteSo this going to bed early and getting up early... STINKS!!! =0(
Happy Birthday!!!!! I am sure he understands and I hope you get to see him sooner then later :) I love all the pictures!! Oh how I love grandparents!
