Today, my baby boy turned 5!
He had a wonderful birthday!
I woke up at 8:53 on the dot, rolled over to find Dylan sleeping next to me, and wrapped my arms around my 4 year old for the last time. At 8:54, the time of his birth, I whispered "Happy Birthday" into his ear, and held him as tightly as I could. At 8:55, I let him go and rolled back over, now a mother to a 5 year old. It is absolutely amazing how quickly time flies when you have children.
I was emotional all day. Sometimes I am overwhelmed at just how much I love him. I wanted his birthday to be as perfect as it possibly could, and it was. He had an amazing day, and is so proud of the fact that he's now 5!
Happy 5th Birthday, Dylan! You are the love of my life! You may be 5, but you will ALWAYS be my baby boy. I'll love you, with all my heart, forever.
Happy Birthday Dylan!
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS cry pretty much all day on the day my kids turn 5. I don't know what it is about that age! My last one turns 5 in August and I've already begun to prepare her for my tears. The other biggie is the day they go to kindergarten. My kids just know to expect it.
It's amazing how big he will seem to you from now on.
