We are already one week into the new year and it's a great one so far!
WEEK 1
January 1st
Happy New Year! We spent the night at Amber's house, but I barely slept. Amber cooked us all a big breakfast to start our day. We spent the afternoon at my sister's house. We had dinner and celebrated all the January birthdays in our family. We had a quiet evening at home.
January 2nd
Dylan and Lexie returned to school and Lily, Liam, and I spent the day at home. I missed my big kids! That night, the kids had a sleepover in Dylan's room, because Dylan and Lexie's school called a 2 hour delay.
January 3rd
We slept in thanks to the 2 hour delay. After Dylan and Lexie went to school, I went to my parent's house. I picked my mom up from work and we went shopping. We returned to my parent's house and had dinner together. When we finally left to go home it was only 1 degree outside!
January 4th
We had a lazy morning and afternoon at home. Lexie did her homework, the girls played with playdoh, the three older kids played in the snow, and Liam tried out his doorway jumper. Later that afternoon Lexie, Liam, and I did some shopping. That evening we went to my sister's house for a 16th Birthday party for my nephew, Garrett, then went to Amber's house to celebrate Jack's 7th Birthday. We ended up staying really late.
January 5th
Everybody in the house slept in until nearly noon. No joke. Grant's brother, Eric, came over to watch the football games. That evening, our good friends that live in Oregon stopped by for a visit. The last time we saw them was two years ago. Both our families had new babies since then. It was so nice to see them, and we were sad when they left. It may be two years before we see them again.
January 6th
Grant got sick that morning and had to call off work. A two hour delay was called for Dylan and Lexie's school at 5 AM, but at 8 AM that changed to a closing. The kids were so excited. We spent most of the day at home. That afternoon, Dylan, Lexie, Liam and I ran some errands and went to the doctor. Liam had a weight check, Dylan had his yearly exam, and Dylan and Lexie had to get shots. We headed home, had dinner, and sent the kids into Dylan's room for a sleepover, because school was canceled the next day! It was my dad's birthday. I was bummed I didn't get a chance to see him, but I did get to talk to him twice!
January 7th
School was canceled again! I love snow days with my kids! Our day started off with Lexie losing her fifth tooth. She begged me to pull it, and I hate tooth gore, but it came out with a tiny tug! We stayed home all day because it was freezing out. The night before, it was -15. Definitely the coldest I can remember it being! I did T25, then put away all the Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, the night ended bad. I looked down and realized that the diamond was missing out of my engagement ring. We looked everywhere but couldn't find it. I know I lost it sometime today, at home. I am so bummed, and I'm hoping I can find it. UPDATE: Found my ring! It was in the garbage can!
Lexie is looking so grown up lately!! All that snow...brrrr!!!!! =/ Makes me feel bad for complaining about 37 degrees down here! lol
