Christmas went way too quickly this year! I feel like I blinked and it was over!
Our day was quieter than it usually is, but we did get to see a lot of our family. There was less driving and more time spent at our own house!
After we opened our presents on Christmas morning, my dad left, and we drove over to Grant's mom's house, still wearing our pajamas. We have always spent part of Christmas morning with Grant's family. We exchange gifts, have a cup of something hot, and the past few years, we have had breakfast together.
My kids were ready for Christmas morning with MawNaw!
Well, except a sleepy Liam. But he loves his cuddly bear outfit and bug toy!
Unfortunately, Grant's brother couldn't make it this year. We really missed him! But thanks for the toys, Uncle Eric, Michelle, and Ryder!
After opening presents, the kids sat down for hot cocoa, then we had breakfast.
There was time to play after we ate, while Grant and I visited with his mom, Uncle Scott, and Nannie. Dylan, Lexie, and Lily loved their gifts!
Grant's mom had to leave for her mom's house and we had to meet my parents at our house. Once, home, we immediately transitioned into exchanging gifts with my parents. I miss Christmas mornings with my parents now that my mom offers to work, but I'm glad we get some time in the afternoon with them.
Nina and Papa did a great job choosing the perfect gifts for the kids!
My parents left for my sister's house, and we had to hurry to get dressed so we could join them for an early dinner. Luckily, my sister's house is only a 1 minute drive from our house!
We had a great time with my parents and my sister's family. It was one of the quietest family dinners I can remember! Everyone else was doing their own thing. I took a break from the camera, and just relaxed for a bit!
Everyone was getting tired, so we left quickly for our last stop. We didn't stay long at Nannie's house, but we wanted to see Grant's cousin and his family.
This was the first time Grant had to work the following day, so we had to go home earlier than usual. It gave the kids a chance to play with their new toys, and gave Grant and I the chance to relax!
Every year, we take a picture of our babies in a giant Christmas mug. This year was Liam's turn!
Everybody fell asleep early that night. Liam and I stayed up late, savoring the moments of his first Christmas.
We snuggled up together in the quiet room, lit only by the glow of the Christmas tree. I held his tiny body in my arms, held his hand in mine, and watched the snow fall. The world was quiet and beautiful. I will always remember those sweet moments as Liam's first Christmas came to an end. Everything was perfect.
This Christmas was the best Christmas we ever had. The people in my life made it so perfect. I couldn't help but think life couldn't get any better than it was that day!
Yea! So glad you had such a great Christmas! What a busy one! You guys had a lot of stops to make. Our Christmas we just stayed home just us but I am okay with that
