On Saturday, we attended a gorgeous wedding!
Grant's cousin, Justin, got married, and it was one of the best weddings I've ever been to. The location was perfect, the weather was perfect, the food was amazing, and everybody had a wonderful time!
The wedding was held at the Succop Conservancy, which is part of the Audubon Society. Even though it's nearby, I had never been there! I think we'll be heading back, to walk the trails!
Justin and Amanda got married in front of the beautiful house on the property. Amanda was stunning!
After the ceremony, there was cocktail hour inside the beautiful house and on the patio. Lexie was amazed at the tables of cookies!
Before the reception began, we explored the gorgeous grounds.
There was so much to discover! The kids were amazed by all the small airplanes overhead (the airport was very close), the nature huts, the koi, and the birds! A bunch of us decided to take a quick stroll on the nature trail. While it was beautiful, it wasn't the best idea to walk a mile in 4 inch heels, with a baby strapped to the front of me!
Finally, it was time for the reception to begin. The reception was held in an event pavilion next to the house. It was decorated so beautifully...from the strands of lights and pompoms throughout the pavilion to the flower bouquets and vases of Betta Fish centerpieces to the tower of amazing cupcakes. Perfect!
The kids were so well behaved as the wedding party was introduced, and as the delicious dinner was served. They were so excited when the plates were cleared, because that meant they could run off and play with their cousins!
Lily took a few nap breaks, and spent the rest of the time in the grass or in the Moby wrap.
The girls and I spent most of our time on the dance floor! Lexie cracked me up. She danced from the time dancing started until the wedding ended!
I barely saw Dylan. He was way too busy playing, and taking pictures in the photo booth. He did bring a surprise guest, which the bride happened to kiss.
To say that everybody had fun would be an understatement!
Pretty soon, the sun set, and everybody had to return to the pavilion. The kids, Grant, and I danced the night away.
All too quickly, the wedding came to an end. The kids continued to dance, without music, while we gathered all our stuff.
Much to their surprise, we left the wedding with FOUR of the Betta Fish. I offered to take just one, for Lexie, because she had been wanting her own fish. My kindhearted husband was worried about their fate, so he decided to take three more! Needless to say, the kids were excited! (And we had to make a trip to Petsmart for bowls for each fish!)
All the dancing and playing wore my party animals out! It was less than a ten minute drive home. When we pulled into the driveway, Dylan was half asleep, Lily was snoring, and my dancing queen was passed out!!!
Congratulations to Justin and Amanda!
It was an amazing day!
That is a beautiful place for pictures and a wedding. :)
