Our Five Ring Circus: School Days

School Days

We had a good, relaxing labor day weekend! It's so hard to believe that summer vacation is officially over!

On Friday, I went shopping with my mom, stocked up on some clothes for the girls (it still feels weird to say girls!), and then watched "Insidious" with Grant. I ended up plastered to Grant's side for most of the movie, and actually screamed loudly at one point!

We kicked off our weekend with a dance party. Lexie "walked like an Egyptian."

Our baby girl turned 1 month old on Saturday. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around that fact. She spent most of the day sleeping, so an official 1 month post will be coming soon!

Dylan and Lexie had a movie night/sleepover.

We had a lazy Sunday. It rained for most of the day, so we stayed home. Grant's mom came over for a visit, and joined us for dinner. The kids finally got a chance to just stay at home and play.

Last night was rough. We headed to bed around 1 AM, and I grabbed Lily to feed her. Just moments after she began eating, she projectile vomited all over herself, me, and the bed. Grant had just fallen asleep, so he had to climb out of bed and help me change the sheets. That, in itself, is a process with our king size bed! I climbed back into bed and finished changing Lily. Just as I picked her up, she projectile vomited again. Same big mess all over the new sheets. At that point, I just began crying. Grant felt bad, and gave me his side of the bed, so I could get some sleep, and he took the couch. She threw up AGAIN, and at that point, I gave up and just decided to lay down a towel over the puke spot, and go to bed! After that was over, we got plenty of sleep!

Today, it rained even more, and the weather was much cooler. Only in PA...it went from 95 to 65! Lily is benefiting from the cooler weather. Her heat rash is clearing up, thank goodness!

Instead of the usual big Labor Day picnic, we had a nice dinner indoors with Grant's family. Grant's dad just got home from the hospital, so the picnic was canceled. We had a good time though. I always enjoy spending time with his family!

Lexie loves it when she and Lily have matching dresses! She is so proud to be Lily's big sister!

After our family dinner, we came home, and began preparing things for Dylan's first day of school.

The lunch bag is packed, the clothes are sitting out, the backpack is ready, and the kids are in bed! I can't believe I'm going to have a first grader in the morning!

I'm going to miss my little man now that he's going to be gone all day! Goodbye (somewhat relaxing) summer, and hello back to school chaos!!!

  5. Today is Buddy's first day of 1st grade too. He was excited, but also a little nervous. I can't wait to hear how his day goes!

We had a puker on Saturday night. Buster ate all day long and I think it finally caught up with him and he puked all over his bed. Ugh.

Oh the projectile vomit...Monkey did that a lot and we had many nights spent the exact same way when she was a wee one. Thank goodness for wonderful hubby's!

Sounds like a perfect weekend to me and I am sure Dylan will have a wonderful first day!
