Valentine's Day Prep

After a Saturday full of shopping, birthday partying at Fun Fore All, and visiting friends, Dylan and Lexie were exhausted! They were a bit wound up at bed time, but fell asleep quickly!

I swear, Spring can't come soon enough! The temps are in the 40's, so the remaining snow is finally melting, but I can't wait until we can play outside every day. My kids have cabin fever...bad!

We visited Grant's family for a while this afternoon. Lexie takes a ton of stuff with her everywhere we go. It's genetic. I'm the same way! We could not stop laughing as she unpacked her bag at Nannie's house. In addition to the complete tea set and random toys, she had a slipper (yes, just one!), a water bottle, and a can of spaghetti-o's!!!

After our visit, we had some stuff to do to get ready for Valentine's Day!

Dylan wrote out his Valentines and attached silly band to each one. His school bans sweets, so we had to get creative!

I cheated and made Valentine's Day cookies from refrigerated dough. I felt guilty that we didn't follow our tradition of making cut out sugar cookies, but I'm not feeling so good this year! They didn't seem to mind one bit!

After a snack of cookies, I read Valentine's Day books to the kids, and put them to bed.

Tomorrow is a big day for both of them. Dylan has his Valentine's Day party at school, and Lexie is getting registered for Pre-K! If they're good, they'll get a special treat from cupid! Plus, Grant and I are going to try to sneak away for dinner. We're all looking forward to Valentine's Day this year!

  2. Laura and O did their cards today too! We created them this year from scratch, maybe had too many pieces as the girls got bored, but they turned out great! Laura is giving out pencils (as I'm sure others will too.) Hope your dinner tomorrow is great!

  7. I felt a little bad yesterday too when I didnt have the energy to make the cookies into heart shapes for my guys. So instead, I used the small heart shaped cookie cutter to put sprinkle shapes on them. Lexie bringing canned goods is too funny...I guess she was trying to be prepared for a snack at Nannies. Happy Valentines day...good luck at dinner. Gary and I refuse to go out to dinner on this day (way too many people)...our date night is Saturday :)
