Life Lately:The Pregnancy Edition

Life Lately: The Pregnancy Edition

Happy November! Life Lately has been very busy and very exciting. If we're friends on Facebook or Instagram, you probably already heard the news...if not, all you have to do is read my previous post!

Although the busyness of life isn't going to slow down, I'm finally able to function better. I'm hoping to get back to a regular blogging schedule in this month. I missed writing and reading blogs so much while I was sick!

Here's a peek at life lately...

WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK...

Weekly Mean Plan Ideas

Here's my favorite Crockpot Taco Soup Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey, browned
  • 1 Can of Corn, drained
  • 2 Cans of Black Beans, drained
  • 1 Can of Kidney Beans, drained
  • 1 Can of Pinto Beans, drained
  • 1 Small Can of Tomato Sauce
  • 32 oz Chicken Broth
  • 1 Packet of Taco Seasoning
  • Colby Jack Cheese and Sour Cream for toppings
Make It:
  1. Brown the ground meat.
  2. Place all the ingredients in the crockpot.
  3. Cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low!
It's super easy to make, and absolutely delicious!

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT...

Maybe it's pregnancy hormones, but I can't help but think about when my four kids were babies, and how quickly they grew up. With this last baby, I'm going to make it a point to slow down, and enjoy every moment!

WHAT I'M LOVING...

💛 Not throwing up 20 times a day!
💛 The remaining Fall leaves up in the trees.
💛 Wearing comfy sweaters and boots.
💛 My awesome Fitbit.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...

Well...hiding a surprise pregnancy for months! We just announced it on Sunday. I'm going to be 22 weeks on Thursday, and we already know the gender...

Pregnancy Announcement Idea

We took our kids to the Heinz History Center.

Heinz History Center

We went Trick or Treating at Grant's office, where they each got two large bags of candy!

Trick or Treating

Lily had Trick or Treat night at dance.

I was a volunteer for Liam's class Halloween party, and Lily's class Halloween party.

Down syndrome

We carved our pumpkins. We never made it to the pumpkin patch, unfortunately.

I walk/run 4-5 days a week, rain, shine, or freezing cold. I do keep dog poo bags in my pockets just in case I get sick, and I have used them. I have to go first thing in the morning, before I eat or drink anything!

Fit Mom

We celebrated Down syndrome Awareness Month. I didn't share a single post on my blog, but advocated almost daily on social media.

We had a very rainy, but fun Halloween!

WHAT I'M DREADING...

Surprisingly...nothing. I mean, we do have an upcoming IEP meeting, and those are never fun, but I'm not really dreading it.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON...

My to do list is out of control!

✅ Clearing out the clutter to prepare for baby.
✅ Moving Dylan downstairs to a bedroom in the basement.
✅ Planning a shared bedroom for Liam and the baby.
✅ Planning holiday gift guides for the blog.
✅ Figuring out what we need to buy for the baby.
✅ More seasonal sensory bins for Liam.
✅ Repainting the front door and porch.
✅ Finishing the bathroom remodel.
✅ Thinking up a new blog name! ;)
✅ Checking off the million tasks on my to do list each day!

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT...

🦃 Spending Thanksgiving with my family!
🎄  Christmas!
🍼    AND...baby comes shortly after Christmas!

WHAT I'M READING...

I haven't made it to the library lately since I never know when I'm going to get sick, so I found a book in the lending library at the park. It's older, but it's keeping my attention!

No One to Trust

WHAT I'M WATCHING...

We just finished The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix, and LOVED it! I'm also watching...

📺 Sharp Objects
📺 House of Cards
📺 This Is Us
📺 How To Get Away With Murder
📺 Modern Family

There's so much I would like to add to that list, but right now, sleep comes first!

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO...

We're in the car a lot, and when we're in the car, we listen to Spotify! Liam still loves The Greatest Showman soundtrack, but the girls love KIDZ BOP. They keep all the cd's in the car, but they went straight from the KIDZ BOP Halloween playlist on Spotify to the KIDZ BOP Christmas playlist. I mean, that's life with kids!

WHAT I'M WEARING...

Halfway through October, we transitioned from Summer and went straight to chilly Fall weather. We don't have in between seasons here anymore! I usually wear three outfits a day...

I start with workout clothes (as the month progressed, I added more layers)...

Running

...then I switch to sweaters or longer shirts with jeans or leggings (no maternity clothes yet) and boots...

...and I end the day in warm, fuzzy pajamas! My favorites are from CuddleDuds!

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MONTH...

🍂 Dylan's 14th Birthday and Thanksgiving...which are on the same day!
🍂 Decorating for Christmas!!!
🍂 All the days off of school. That starts this week, when my kids are off on Thursday and Friday. Yay, 3 day week, followed by a 4 day weekend!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW...

In case you missed it, we found out the gender for the very first time during our pregnancy! We waited until birth with our other four, and although that's my preferred method (I can now officially say that waiting is better), it was more convenient to know the gender this time so we could prepare. AND...IT'S A BOY!!!

Liam napped every single weekday after Kindergarten. Which is good, because mama needs a pregnancy nap, too. ;) I just choose to nap in a bed instead of on the back of a couch...

  3. I seriously don't know how you made it through all of the sickness. Being sick like that is the worst thing ever to me, so I don't think I would survive it. Lol.

  7. Hey, Congrats on your pregnancy. Hope so you enjoy your pregnancy period. I am also a pregnant woman with my first baby. I need some maternity clothes for me. Someone suggests me to visit here and also said that here I could found my all maternity clothes. If you had any suggestion about this, I would much appreciate it. Thank you.
