High Five For Friday

Happy Friday, my friends!

It's definitely a happy day! The Spring weather returned (no more snow, please), it's sunny, and we actually have fun plans for this weekend. I was also excited to find out that I'm a featured blogger over at High Five For Friday today!

Here are a few things I'm loving this week:

{ONE}

A new mug for my collection!

Confession:  I hate mornings.  I am not a morning person and I never will be a morning person.  Thankfully, my kids agree, but we're still forced to wake up early for school. Pretty mugs make mornings just a bit brighter (along with some STRONG hot tea).

I have way to many mugs in my collection, but I couldn't pass this one up.  Thank you, Target Dollar Spot!

{TWO}

My incredibly sweet, yet incredibly entertaining 4 year old, who keeps life interesting.

Just a little story from today: I walked into the kitchen and into a cloud of perfumed air.  Liam was sitting in his high chair with a smile on his face and slicked back hair.  Hair that suspiciously smelled like Febreeze.  I called the only suspect in for questioning.  Lily's defense?  "He smelled like poop and Febreeze gets out the smelliest smells."

Well played, Lily.  Well played. And effective advertising, Febreeze!

I could share a similar story every day.  There's never a dull moment with Lily around!

{THREE}

Fear the Walking Dead!

Is anybody else watching it?  For some reason, I love Zombie shows.  I watch them through my fingers, and call it my weekly dose of anxiety, but I just can't stop watching!

{FOUR}

An awesome new toy!

And for under $10?  Can't beat it! Amazon and Target sells it, but Shopko has it for a fraction of the price.  I ordered ours online from Shopko when it was $8.88!  It's a sand and water playset from American Plastic Toys, but I prefer to use aquarium gravel in it.  It's much easier to sweep up! ;)

{FIVE}

A super sweet birthday gift from a best friend!

She knows me well, and it found a home above our fireplace. I think she found it at Michael's.  I love it just as much as the makeup bag filled with lip gloss that she gave me!

007

{SIX}

Those incredibly sweet moments between siblings!

Each of my older kids has an amazing bond with Liam, and I love watching their love grow. He really is a lovable kid!

{SEVEN}

Oh, my tween.

I'm not going to lie.  11 is a really frustrating age. Dylan spends most of his time rolling his eyes at me, choosing the right outfits, and fixing his hair. He also has a crush on a girl. This kid frustrates me on a daily basis, but underneath all the tween angst, that incredibly sweet, incredibly loving, polite kid still exists.

I catch glimpses of that kid daily, but I'm felling overwhelmed by the mini-teen that's emerging!

{EIGHT}

My tiny little dude, always hanging on me!

I joke that Liam is always underfoot, but it's true.  We were trying to take a walk today, and Liam kept walking between my legs.  I finally passed the camera to Dylan and asked him to snap a picture.

It does get annoying at times, but I know that one day, all too soon, I'm going to be missing this phase!

  1. I was cracking up about Lily yesterday. What a silly girl. I can imagine that having Liam walking between your legs would be pretty difficult. Ha ha! I agree that times like that will be missed. Why do they grow up so quickly.

    1. She is a crazy kid!
      I am always tripping over Liam, but it's pretty cute. They do grow up way too quickly!

  2. Oh the febreeze story is too cute! My sister once sprayed windex in my mouth when I was little but I think her motives were less kind :)

      I can't stop buying mugs. I'm seriously running out of cabinet space.

  4. I hear you! I feel the same way about having a 13 year old. I love having little kids so it's been a transition to have a teenager for sure! I love that grey shirt! Where is it from? Have a great weekend!!!

    1. It's tough, isn't it?!?
      I found the shirt at TJ Maxx, but you might have better luck with the brand. It's Toska.
      Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Oh my gosh I feel the SAME way about a little one underfoot! It drives me nuts sometimes, but I try to keep reminding myself that I am going to miss this phase of life.

    1. Exactly! That being said, I would prefer not to trip over him all the time. Haha!

  6. How pretty is that mug?! I can't believe you found it in the Dollar Spot! I need to keep an eye out for it the next time I'm at Target! I'm not a morning person either, so I know that struggle is real. :) Congrats on being the featured H54F blogger, and hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you, Jess! I hope you're able to find the mug. It was the last one when I went so I'm sure they got scooped up quickly!

    And girl, I totally feel your struggles about not being a morning person. I wish I was SO BADLY, but I've come to terms with the fact that I never will be.

  11. I LOVE that mug and that little car toy is AWESOME! It is good to capture that shot with Liam too. Those things need to be documented :D. Hope you are surviving your Monday!

  12. Oh my goodness... Lily is such a smart little girl. Who wouldn't want to smell Febreeze instead of poopy? What a brilliant idea! I love your Target coffee mug--sometimes it's the little things that make life so pleasurable. I'll admit the "tween" years are scaring me a bit. I can't help to think Lewie will be just like Dylan in another three or four years... Adolescence is such a difficult phase.
