The REAL Santa

Nearby, in the town I grew up in, sits a tiny white house covered with Christmas cheer. Every December evening, Santa sits in that tiny white house, and happily greets each eager child that is waiting to see him.

I grew up visiting Santa in this house, so it made sense to take Dylan there when he was just a few weeks old.  We have gone every year since.

We made the short drive into town tonight to visit Santa.  Dylan and Lexie know that sometimes Santa has helpers that look like him because Santa can't be everywhere at once.  But every so often, the REAL Santa makes a special appearance. They were 100% certain that they met the real Santa tonight!

Dylan, Lexie, and Lily were so excited to go inside and meet Santa!  They were practically jumping up and down.  Luckily, the line moved quickly, and soon, it was our turn!

And there he was!

Santa didn't have enough room on his lap for all of our kids, so Dylan and Lexie went first.  Lexie told him that she wanted a playing kitty.  That's all.

073

All Dylan wanted was an XBox One.  HA!!!

Lily was so excited for her turn.  She climbed up on Santa's lap without hesitation and when he asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she eagerly said, "Hi, Santa!!!"  He finally coaxed an answer out of her...CANDY!

Finally, it was Liam's turn!  I think Santa would have happily held Liam all night.

Liam would have been perfectly happy with that!

It was such a fun visit with Santa.  He's a very special man!

Santa gave the kids coloring books and tootsie rolls, reminded them to behave, told them to leave out some chocolate chip cookies (his favorite!) on Christmas Eve, and wished them a Merry Christmas!

As we walked out, Dylan and Lexie excitedly whispered to us that he was the REAL Santa Claus!

That could be.  He was VERY convincing!

Our fun didn't end there.  Part of our Visiting Santa Tradition is to drive a few blocks away to see a Christmas display.  The kids love to see all the Christmas scenes in the boxes!

Our night wouldn't be complete without a trip to Pizza Hut!

The kids were bubbling with excitement after seeing Santa.  It was noisy and chaotic, but their excitement was contagious!

These kind of moments are so special. TONIGHT was magical. I felt so lucky and proud to be Dylan, Lexie, Lily, and Liam's mom.  It is a night that I will treasure forever.  Family and tradition is so important, and we work hard to give them good experiences.  I hope they can look back on this night some day in the future and be filled with happiness!
