We had a really good Valentine's Day this year!
The day is never very exciting, but I do try to make it special for my family!
Every year, the kids wake up to little Valentine's Day treats. Their gifts usually include a small box of chocolates and a small toy. This year, in addition to the chocolates, Dylan got a mini Halo figure and Zombies, Lexie got a mini Snow White Lalaloopsy doll and lipgloss, and Lily got a book. They were so happy with their little gifts!
This year, I surprised Grant and the kids with heart-shaped pancakes, thanks to preparing the pancake batter the night before. I couldn't find my heart cookie cutter, so I did my best. Luckily, Dylan and Lexie declared that they were beautiful!
When I took the big kids out to the bus stop, we discovered goody bags for the kids waiting on the hood of Grant's car, from our sweet friend. Dylan and Lexie were so excited, and Lily dug into hers as soon as I took them inside!
The next few hours were spent with my sweet little lovebug!
I also received some awesome news that morning from a great friend! You can read about it here. I just may have spent most of my morning talking to her!
Soon, it was time to pick Lexie up from school. Dylan had his Valentine's Day party the day before, but Lexie's was on Valentine's Day. She was so eager to go through her valentines when we returned home! She even got an extra special one from a boy in her class!
Lexie kept Lily busy while I made us some lunch.
Lunch wasn't anything special, other than being served in Valentine's Day bowls, but we did have chocolates for dessert!
After lunch, Lexie made a few Valentine's Day inspired foam crafts.
After Dylan got home from school, we made lots of Valentine's Day cookies for a dinner that evening.
We never really go out on dates on Valentine's Day anymore. This year, we got together with some friends and their kids for a Valentine's Day dinner. It was so much fun! I hope we make it a yearly tradition!
Once home, the kids went straight to bed. Grant gave me a few gifts, and insists on buying me a tablet. I, however, am trying to convince him that the 30 mm lens I want would be a better choice! ;)
We attempted to cuddle on the couch for a bit, but having 3 kids and busy schedules caught up to us, and we were both dozing off within minutes! Now that's romance!
I'm just happy I got to spend the day with all my loves!
Sounds like you had a great vday. We didn't do anything special for vday either. The hubs and I are going for pedi's together on Monday while the older girls are at gma's.
