Week In Review {Week 48: 365 Project}

It's hard to believe it's December!  It's even harder to believe that there are only 4 more weeks left in 2012. This year flew by!!!

We had an incredibly busy, fun week!

WEEK 48

NOVEMBER 25th

Despite going to bed late the night before, my kids and their guests woke up early.  My sweet friend arrived shortly after with donuts, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate milk.  She is awesome!  We fed the kids, then they went outside to play in the dusting of snow for a few minutes.  They played until noon, and then everybody went home.  We went over to Grant's Nannie's house to spend the day with his family. Afterward, we went to our friend's house for dinner.  I came home early with the kids because I was exhausted!!!

NOVEMBER 26th

The kids had the day off school.  I met my friend at the park so we could take pictures of Dylan and her son for their birthdays.  It was chilly, but we let all the kids play after the pictures were done.  On the way home, I took Dylan to Toys R Us and Dick's Sporting Goods to spend his gift cards.  We had dinner at home, I cleaned and put out some Christmas decorations, then put the kids to bed.

NOVEMBER 27th

The kids reluctantly headed back to school after Thanksgving break.  I ended up completing a bunch of organizational projects around the house while they were at school.  That evening, we went to our friend's house for dinner.

NOVEMBER 28th

It was a rush from one thing to the next kind of day!  Grant and I drove the kids to school, picked up some fast food breakfast and drinks, then drove into Pittsburgh for Lily's hematology appointment.  The doctor determined that her Neutropenia is just genetic. She will have to get CBC's (Complete Blood Counts) done every 6 months for the rest of her life, unless it happens to resolve itself.  We won't have to return to the Hematology/Oncology department unless something pops up in her blood work.  Phew!  When we left the hospital, we only had 25 minutes until Lexie was out of school, so we raced back home and made it just in time!  After a quick lunch, I took Lexie to gymnastics. When we got home, it was the typical weekday dinner/homework/bath routine rush.  Finally, at 7:30, I had a chance to sit down!

NOVEMBER 29th

Another rushed day!  That morning, I volunteered to help Lexie's class shop in the school's Holiday Store.  I had a lot of fun helping my sweet girl shop.  She was so excited to see me and choose gifts for her family.  I love spending time with just her! After I was done, I just waited until Lexie got out of school, then we went straight to my parent's house to visit.  After dinner, we headed back home and the kids went to bed while I cleaned.

NOVEMBER 30th

After the big kids went to school, Grant, Lily, and I went to a local coffee shop.  It was fun spending the morning with Grant. Grant's brother lives nearby, so he walked over to join us.  Afterward, we went to the bank then did some shopping at Target.  While we were heading to check out, all the lights went out in the store.  It was pitch black, and it took several minutes for the generator to kick on.  We had a cart full of things that we had to buy, so we ended up waiting 15 minutes for the registers to reboot.  I dropped Grant off at home, then rushed off to pick up my friend and pick our kids up from school.  We met our other friend at Burger King for a lunch playdate. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.  That evening, Grant and Dylan went to a friend's house, so I spent hours (many hours!) decorating the house for Christmas!

DECEMBER 1st

We spent the morning and afternoon at home.  That evening, we met our group of friends at the town Christmas parade/light-up night. Afterward, our entire group went back to a friend's house for our annual Christmas party!  It's always so much fun!  We had a great time, and ended up staying late.  A great start to the month of December!!!
