Santa's Christmas Party

Last Saturday, we went to Christmas Party #1 of our weekend.  This one catered to the kids.  Dinner and drinks were served to everybody, then the kids got to watch a magic show.  It concluded with a visit from Santa!

We almost missed the party.  Lily was having a horrible day.  She started screaming at 5 AM, which was a red flag that something was wrong.  She is one of those kids that sleeps 12+ hours without complaint.  When this continued for 4 hours, I knew she had an ear infection.  As soon as Urgent Care opened, we took her in.  She had the start of an ear infection along with a sinus infection.

Within 2 hours of returning home, Lily tried to climb into her toy shopping cart, tipped over, and slammed her face into a toy.  She ended up with a huge swollen lip, a split tongue, and a bruised cheekbone.  There was so much blood!

By that evening,  she was happily playing, so we decided to attend the party. The kids were excited to go because Grant's mom was going, too!

When we arrived, appetizers were being served and a musician was performing.  The kids were eager to eat dinner, though!

After dinner, the kids watched a magician perform.  The best part?  The magician's real rabbit!

Finally, it was time to get in the LONG line to see Santa.  Santa hadn't even arrived yet, but apparently, it was vital to get the perfect spot!

Dylan and Lexie were super excited to sit on Santa's lap!

After a long wait, we finally reached the front of the line!

It was apparent that Lily's bad day was catching up with her.  She sat on Santa's lap for a grand total of 25 seconds.

Obviously, it was the fact that she was feeling under the weather.  She and Santa were BFF's when we visited him again on Tuesday!  Then again, she may have noticed it was the REAL Santa.

Dylan is a Santa pro at this point!  As I was taking the pictures, I wondered if this would be the last year for this.  He is just too grown up!

Lexie was a bit nervous in line, but cheered up quickly!

We returned to our seats, and the kids dug into the goody bags Santa gave them.  They even got $3 each!!!

It started out as a bad day, but it sure ended well!

  11. Oh my...That reminds me of the very first day my little boy met Santa Claus. He ran straight into our bed post and got a cut above his eye. That Christmas, all of his pictures had him with one big, bloody looking cut...not fun! Lily sure does look beautiful in her dress. What a darling angel!

  12. Poor Lily! I don't think I would be in the mood to sit on Santa's lap after a day like that either!
