What's Going On

I feel like I've been living my life in a daze the past two weeks! For some reason, I've managed to catch every cold/virus that I've come in contact with since the morning I found out I was pregnant! The latest cold has kicked my butt.

On Easter Sunday, I had a feeling something was wrong when I couldn't even breathe through my nose, even after taking Sudafed. Two mornings later, my feelings were confirmed when I woke up feeling as if my sinuses were on fire. I finally decided to call my doctor, which is a huge step for me. I very rarely see my doctor for a sick visit. Sure enough, I was diagnosed with a severe sinus infection. I've never had one before, and I can honestly say that I hope I never experience one again!

I'm really hoping the antibiotics work quickly, because I have been a miserable person to be around. I feel so crappy! Between not being able to breathe, having a pounding headache that won't go away, dealing with the morning sickness and increased contractions, all while trying to live life normally, I feel like I've reached my limit!

I've had a few bad contractions, but I'm still confident that it's normal for me. The only difference is that the intensity and frequency is kicking in much sooner this time around. I've talked to my OB, and I have a regular appointment scheduled next week, so hopefully they won't find anything of concern. Not to worry, though. I've been taking it easy, spending a lot of time off my feet, and paying close attention to what Nugget and my body is doing! Having gone through preterm labor before, I'll know if I need to head to the hospital.

I'm trying to stay positive, and focus on the fact that I should feel a lot better in a few days!!! For now, I have a good distraction:

  5. sinus problems are very common during the last few months of pregnancy and my last pregancy was when I truely found that out. I had horrible sinus problems too and I know what you must be going through. I was NOT happy at all and I am sure you must be so miserable. Stay positive the medicine will help. Hugs.

  8. =( I'm so sorry that you are sick again. I can only imagine how misreable you have been feeling with this sinus infection and everything else. I hope it passes soon and the contractions slow as well. Just wondering if you have ever heard of the progesterone shots that they start at 20 weeks to help your body not go into preterm? My Dr is avid that I start these weekly at 20 weeks. I had never heard of it before so I thought that since you have experienced preterm as well that you may have? You can email me if you want =) Thank you for any help!
