Day 4 of our September 2020 Myrtle Beach Vacation looked a lot like the previous days! Slow mornings, lots of relaxing, and spending the day swimming and sitting on the beach. We are beach people, so those long days on the oceanfront suit us perfectly!
We have always gone to Myrtle Beach in August, so we are used to the hot Summer days. This was a rapidly planned vacation during the off season. We couldn't pass up an end of September trip for the ridiculously cheap price of $1200 for the week!
While we were at the beach, we were able to celebrate the first day of Fall. It was different being there when the weather was cooler, but we still enjoyed ourselves. It was warm during the day, and cool at night, so there were lots of hoodies involved! We all thought it was cool that we experienced two seasons on our beach vacation!
We kicked off day 4 with a relaxing morning. Coen opted for soup for breakfast, then we hung out in the condo for a few hours. We never have carefree mornings, so we spent the week soaking those up!
Late that morning, we headed down to the pool and hot tub, and spent a few hours there. We eventually moved our crew onto the beach, and set up our spot for the afternoon. The big kids went swimming, the little kids played in the sand, Coen and I went for a beach stroll, and Lily and Grant spent some time looking for shells. The most notable moment was when my dad got knocked down by a wave. The kids were so scared he got hurt, but my dad was cracking up! (See first picture!) Around dinner time, we packed up our beach gear, and headed back to the condo.
That evening, after dinner, we took a little walk, then sat on the balcony watching the sunset. It was a bit chilly, so we put on our hoodies, and took another walk on the beach to look for crabs and shells in the dark. When we came back, we were chilly, so we decided to head down to soak in the hot tub for a bit. We stayed until about 11 PM, then took our tired kids back to the condo, and put them in bed!
Stay tuned for day 5...
