A Week In The Life - Halloween Edition

Big Family Blog

For as crappy as 2020 has been, it has gone by surprisingly fast! It's hard to believe that October is already over, and we're in the midst of the holiday season. I absolutely love this time of year, and I'm not going to let the pandemic stop me from enjoying it!

We filled the last week of October with some fun Halloween activities. We went to the pumpkin farm (post coming), carved pumpkins, went Trick or Treating with friends, and went to a small party. A few of our regular traditions had to be canceled, but I'm very thankful for a fairly normal Halloween week!

Now that Halloween is behind us, we're focusing on Dylan's 16th Birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. November is going by so fast! We're just trying to slow down enough to fully enjoy the holiday season!

Here's how we spent the last week of October...

October 26th

Our week started off with a very ordinary Monday. A run at the park, grocery shopping, dropping kids off, picking kids up, and so on. It was Red Ribbon Week for our four older kids, so they rocked the tie-dye! After school, we spent time outside before we had to go in for dinner, homework, and bath/bedtime.

It was Red, White, and Blue Day for Red Ribbon Week. Once the big kids were at school, Coen and I went for our morning run. After everyone came home from school, we headed to the pumpkin farm. Grant was supposed to join us, but got called into a last minute meeting. We missed him, but we were glad we were able to go!

Just an ordinary Wednesday around here! It was mismatched day at school. It rained all morning, so no run for me. After school, we managed to play outside for a few minutes, but it really wasn't an exciting day for us!

Another rainy day kept us indoors. It was pajama day at school, and I completely forgot to take a picture! It was supposed to be pumpkin carving day, but Lexie went to her best friend's house, and didn't get home until later. Lily ended up carving a small pumpkin by herself, and she did a great job!

The last day of Red Ribbon Week was costume day at school! They didn't have big class Halloween parties due to covid, but they were able to wear costumes and do special Halloween activities. Coen and I were finally able to go for our morning run after a few days off due to rain. After school, we went to my parent's house for a little Halloween dinner. Everyone had a great night, and was excited for Halloween!
