It happens every year. Summer lasts well into October, and I find myself wishing for Fall to arrive. Once it does, it hits with full force. We don't have transitional weather in Pittsburgh anymore. We go straight from 80+ degree weather to 50 degree weather overnight! Now I find myself wishing we were back in Myrtle Beach, enjoying family time and gorgeous beach weather!
If you've been following along, I already posted a recap of our road trip to the beach on Liam's 5th Birthday, and our second day in Myrtle Beach, along with our favorite tips for vacationing at the beach with kids! If not, I included those links at the bottom of the post. I'm determined to finish the complete recap by Thanksgiving, unlike last year's vacation, which took an entire year to finish. Going through thousands of vacation photos is a daunting task!
Here's what we did on day 3 and day 4 of our Myrtle Beach Family Vacation...
Myrtle Beach Family Vacation Day Three
On day three, we actually managed to wake up early, and make it down to the dining room for breakfast. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was really nice! We were seated at a table, they had a huge breakfast buffet and Starbucks coffee (plus a full service Starbucks right in the dining room), and the wait staff took drink orders. We headed back to our suite, completely full and ready to have fun!
After relaxing in our suite for a while, we headed down to the beach for the afternoon. As usual, I lasted for hours with my little beach bums, Lily and Liam, while Grant and the older kids headed back to the suite after some swimming. Honestly, I could easily lay on the beach from sunrise to sunset!
That evening, we headed down to the hotel waterpark for a few hours. Our kids could easily spend the entire day there! With a lazy river, a pool, 3 hot tubs, a spray pool, two water slides, and a direct view of the ocean, there was something for everybody!
We eventually dried off, changed our clothes, and headed down to the beach for a night beach walk! We armed ourselves with flashlights and ziplock bags to store all the shells we found along the way. At first, everybody was actively searching, but soon, the bickering started between the older kids, and Lily and Liam got very tired.
We ended our beach walk at the pier, and took the boardwalk back to our hotel. It was really late, and we didn't pass anyone along the way. As soon as we got into our suite, the kids passed out for the night!
Myrtle Beach Family Vacation Day Four
Day Four at Myrtle Beach was very similar to day three! Breakfast, a little bit of chill time in the suite, and an afternoon at the beach! Yet again, Grant and the big kids headed back early, while the littles stayed with me on the beach. We were eventually chased back to the hotel by an approaching storm!
We stayed there until it closed at 11 PM, then headed up to our suite to put on pajamas, eat some snacks, and watch TV. Our crew fell asleep quickly, and Grant and I got to enjoy some time on the balcony before heading to bed.
Days 3 and 4 at Myrtle Beach were relaxing, yet so much fun! The beach is definitely our happy place. The second half of our week was much busier. Stay tuned as I hopefully wrap up our recap in two more posts!

I love that rainbow! I think my kids would be torn whether they prefer getting dirty in the sand or just hanging at the water park!
