Happy Friday, friends! It has been a while since I posted a Friday Favorites roundup, so I figured it was a good time to post one. Every so often it's good to take a step back from content-based blogging and just share a fun, carefree post that doesn't take much thought! So here are a few awesome things that are on my love list right now...
Canon EOS 6D Camera
This was my big birthday gift this year! It was definitely a necessity, because my beloved Nikon D90, which I used daily for almost a decade, wasn't working well anymore. I did some research and spoke to a friend who is a professional photographer who recommended the Canon 6D, and ended up making the switch to Canon and to a full frame camera.
I am definitely happy with the switch! My plan is to eventually upgrade to a newer model once I feel comfortable dropping that much (more) money for a piece of photography equipment. (Why is it so hard to spend money on myself, on something that I actually use daily?!?)
Canon 50 mm 1.4 Lens
Instead of purchasing the camera with the kit lens, I decided to just get the body, and upgrade my favorite 50 mm 1.8 prime lens (the Nifty Fifty). I ended up going with the Canon 50 mm 1.4 this time, and I love it so much!!! I use it for just about everything!
Village Candle Warm Buttered Bread
My awesome BFF bought this candle for me, and he claimed it smells amazing. He wasn't wrong! It literally made my mouth water. It smells JUST like I'm baking the most delcious homemade bread ever!
Lily's Dance Pictures
Lily's dance pictures are finally in! Now, let me say that I do take my own photos, so I don't purchase much, but there were a few cute shots. This year, Lily is taking jazz, ballet and acro. Jazz is her favorite class! She's currently gearing up for the recital in June!
Se7entees and Trendy Bubs
If you looked in Liam's closet, you would mostly see clothes from Se7entees and Trendy Bubs. Yes, he reps for these companies, but we were purchasing from them before he did. I love to Shop Small, and these two companies are my absolute favorite! (And just FYI, Se7entees carries sizes from infant to adult!)
If you want to order something from Se7entees, you can use the code LIAM15 to save 15% at checkout.
If you want to order from Trendy Bubs, you can use the code liamff to save 20% at checkout. (Excluding sale, clearance and custom name items.)
Personalized Freezer Pop Holders
My kids are LOVING these personalized freezer pop holders from Se7entees. No more paper towel freezer pop holders for us. These are a super cute reusable option that keep their hands warm and dry!!! (Use that code above to save, but...they are only $3.50 each!)
Origin by Dan Brown
I love to read, and I have loved every single book that Dan Brown wrote featuring the character Robert Langdon! This was his newest book, and I really enjoyed it. The thing I love most about his books is the fact that they actually inspire me to do research on places that are featured in the stories. I often put down the book and consult Google to check out images!
The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors by Drew Daywalt
Lily picked up this book at her book fair last week, and she was cracking up as I read it to her! I have to admit, it was really funny and enjoyable to read. If you have a younger child up to age 10, this book would be a hit!
Headband Curls
I mentioned in this post last week that I gave up on straightening my hair. Since I'm no longer using a blow dryer or straightening iron, I started to do headband curls to sculpt my waves (they often get frizzy due to the humidity, and this method prevents that). It's super easy to do, and I usually keep it in overnight, or leave the headband in for a few hours. The longer I wear it, the curlier my hair gets! If you haven't tried this method yet, I highly recommend it. The best part is that the curls actually last!
Chic VoxBox
I love it when I get a VoxBox from Influenster! The latest one I received was the Chic VoxBox. It contains eos Sensitive Shave Cream, NYX Worth the Hype Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara, Korres Pomegranate Ahas & Enzymes Resurfacing Mask, and samples of Hair Food Moisture Shampoo & Conditions infused with Honey Apricot fragrance.
The only time I use shave cream is in the Spring and Summer, so this one arrived just in time. Although I typically use waterproof mascara, I really liked this long-lasting regular version, that left my eyelashes looking longer and fuller. The Face Mask made my skin glow and feel soft. And the Hair Food made my hair soft and shiny!
*These products were sent to me free for review.
Hunter Boots
These Hunter boots were another awesome birthday gift, and of course, I had to go with pale rose! I am LOVING them, and they are totally serving their purpose during soccer season. (I'm not going to lie...the mud splattered all over the boots made me cringe. Thankfully, a quick rinse in the tub made them look brand new again!) The ONLY good thing about all the rain we have been getting is the fact that I get to wear my Hunter boots more often!
Reusable Glass Water Bottle
I have been considering getting a reusable glass water bottle for a few months, but kept picturing Liam heaving it across the room. I needed a new reusable cup for my marathon night at dance each week, so I finally took the plunge, and picked this one up for $6.99 at a recent Aldi shopping trip!
I love it because it doesn't change the taste of the drink like plastic and stainless steel bottles tend to do! Plus, it doesn't spill, which is an added bonus. I have been taking it with me almost every time I leave the house!
Wow, so much fun in this post! I use a Nikon 35mm 1.8 lens most of the time and I love it. I think it's like using a 50mm on a full frame camera, from what I've heard. I'm waiting to see Gabbie's dance pictures here! I didn't know Dan Brown had a new book. I've liked all his others. Never heard of headband curls, will have to look that up!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see Gabbie's pics! If you liked Dan Brown's other books, you will like this one, too!
DeleteI love my glass water bottle too, I can't do stainless steel, it changes the flavor way too much for me! Have a great weekend :)

I completely agree! I love my stainless steel straw cup because it keeps my drink cold all day, but it does tend to change the flavor. I am really liking the glass bottle a lot!
DeleteLove those popsicle covers! I may need to buy a few! OXO
ReplyDeleteThey are so inexpensive!!! We love them!
DeleteI love my Canon! I think you will really enjoy it; the pics you took look great. You got those curls from doing that?!?! I need to try that out with my girls... thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it so far. I have only shot with Nikon before, but this camera is great! And make sure you try the curls. It's actually surprisingly easy. Lexie and Lily's have straight hair, and it doesn't hold curls unless we do the headband curls method! It literally takes less than a minute to wrap up, and they just sleep on it all night!
DeleteI shoot with a Canon 6D and a 50mm 1.4 too! Seriously the best combo. Although now I really want a 85mm!
