Easter 2018...sometimes it's best to just skip the words, and recap the moments with pictures!

Easter

Okay, so there were a few words. And these are the moments I want to remember!

  • Lily's head bowed over a picture she was drawing for the Easter Bunny in the car, and how she would interrupt my concentration while driving every few minutes to ask me to spell a word.  How she raced upstairs when we got home, and pinned her letter to the Easter Bunny to the wall. And how she so sweetly asked for him to put a Barbie in her basket, and wrote a circle a yes or no reponse on the back of the picture.
  • How excited Lexie was to put together Ella's first Easter basket and how giving it to Ella was the first thing she did when we all woke up on Easter morning.
  • Lily knocking on our bedroom door and asking if they could look for their baskets yet, while Lexie hid behind her, hoping for the okay.
  • Lily's excitement over discovering that the Easter Bunny had, indeed, circled yes for leaving a Barbie in her basket.
  • How Dylan, Lexie and Lily raced through the house looking for their Easter baskets, and just couldn't find them.
  • How excited they were when they spotted the marshmallow trail into the garage, and followed it to Grant's car, where all four baskets were hiding!
  • The chorus of excited voices from four kids as they discovered the goodies in their baskets.
  • How excited Dylan was to help hide the eggs for the egg hunt for the very first time. It was the first year he decided not to participate.
  • Watching Liam actually join in on the egg hunt for the first time. He smiled every time he spotted an egg, ran to it, then carefully picked it up and raced it back to his basket which was sitting on the ground nearby. He was done after 5 eggs.
  • The way my dad opened every single egg for Liam and made a huge deal about what was inside.
  • How Lily made goodie bags with some of her Easter candy for my mom and me, because we didn't get anything for Easter.
  • How Lexie, who no longer enjoys wearing fancy dresses, spun in circles repeatedly just to watch her skirt twirl. It was a happy reminder that even though she is growing up too fast, that magic of childhood still remains.
  • The way Lily told us that Ella "just might have chewed a tiny hole or two" in her dress, and that hole or two turned out to be a HUGE hole in the tulle skirt.
  • Dylan, Lexie, Lily and Liam's love for Easter. THAT'S what I want to remember about Easter 2018!

  4. Aw, it sounds like you had a fantastic Easter. That's too cute that Lily made you goodie bags since you didn't get anything. And I'm glad Liam was able to hunt for eggs this year!!

  5. Happy belated Easter! The girls looked so pretty in their Easter dresses. How sneaky for the Easter Bunny to hide all the baskets in the car! It looks like you enjoyed a wonderful holiday. XO
