DISCLOSURE: I was provided product in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
During my childhood, essential oils were part of my everyday life. My mother was an herbalist who used essential oils regularly, so I was exposed to them. That being said, I definitely don't consider myself an essential oils expert. I have a few that I use regularly, but it ends there.
When I was approached by Simply Earth about reviewing their Essential Oil Recipe Box, I was intrigued! Simply Earth was founded by two brothers and their wives who were passionate about making it easy and affordable to make your home natural. The Essential Oil Recipe Box is a monthly subscription box that offers a different theme each month. From DIY cleaning to kids to holiday to bath & beauty, they cover it all. I couldn't wait to see what was inside the box I received!
The Essential Oil Recipe Box includes 5 full size essential oils, 5-7 recipes, recipe containers, labels and recipe ingredients. All essential oils are tested 100% pure and don't have any additives or fillers. You can opt to get 1 box each month for $39/box, 1 box every 3 months for $45/box or just this month's box for $49. If you know anything about essential oils, you know that this is an incredible deal. Essential oils are SO expensive! You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time, there's a 100% money back guarantee and shipping is always free.
The best part about Simply Earth is that they give back! Simply Earth donates 13% of their profits to help end human trafficking. Just like many others, I respect companies that donate to a cause and I'm more likely to buy from them. Learn more about Simply Earth's mission HERE.
BRING IN CHRISTMAS ESSENTIAL OIL RECIPE BOX
I was very impressed with my Essential Oil Recipe Box! The theme for the month was Bring In Christmas which was so perfect. It included everything I needed to make my home smell festive for Christmas and there was also a fun activity to do with my kids!
CHRISTMAS AIR FRESHENER
The first recipe we made was the Christmas Air Freshener. Simply Earth sent the oils, the label and the mason jar that were needed for the recipe. I just had to supply a 1/2 cup of baking soda and a scrap of tulle. The recipe was extremely quick and easy to make. It literally only took a minute! My kids love the smell of this air freshener and they comment every time they walk into the living room!
HOLIDAY HOME SCENT SPRAY
The Holiday Home Scent Spray was also very quick and easy to make. The Pine and Frankincense essential oils combine to make a great Christmas-y smell! Simply Earth provided the essential oils, the bottle and the label. We just had to add water and mix it up!
Both the Christmas Air Freshener and the Holiday Home Scent Spray were festive additions that brought the smell of Christmas into our home!
DIFFUSER BLENDS
Many people use a diffuser to bring the smell of essential oils into their homes. The Essential Oils Recipe Box included two recipes for Diffuser Blends along with the most amazing smelling essential oil called Happy Joy. I don't own a diffuser but I definitely want to purchase one!
The Christmas Diffuser Blend combines Frankincense, Pine and Rosemary.
The Natural Christmas Tree Blend combines Frankincense and Pine.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the Essential Oil Recipe Box was the smell of the Happy Joy Essential Oil. It quickly became my favorite essential oil and I love to sniff it when I start feeling overly stressed! It really does make me feel calm and happy!
CURB HUNGER
The Bring In Christmas Essential Oil Recipe Box also included a roll-on essential oil called Curb Hunger. This is perfect for the holiday season when most of us are stuffing ourselves during party after party!
DIY SCENTED ORNAMENTS
The final recipe in the Essential Oil Recipe Box was for DIY Scented Ornaments. My kids LOVED making these and they thought they smelled so good! Making the dough was quick on the stove. After the dough cooled completely, my kids had fun rolling it out, using cookie cutters to cut out shapes and decorating the shapes with beads and stamps.
Thanks to this fun activity, we now have cute personalized ornaments that smell great for our tree this year!
We had so much fun with the Essential Oil Recipe Box from Simply Earth. Thanks to the full size bottles of essential oils, we can make these recipes over and over again!
