Weekly Things (and then some)

Happy Monday and Happy Love Week!!!

I don't know about you, but I have a bad case of the Mondays today! I tossed and turned all night and woke up with a headache. I sent Phase One off to school, then sat down with a very strong cup of hot tea and wrote out my meal plan for the week.  I should be cleaning the house in preparation for Liam's OT and Speech Therapy sessions today (his therapists come to our home), but...I just don't feel like it! Caffeine first!

Phase One is off to school so I'm enjoying an hour of silence before Phase Two wakes up. Hot Tea (I need lots of caffeine this morning) and making up a meal plan was the only thing on my agenda!

~The weather has been amazing in Pittsburgh.  I really can't complain about winter this year.  Wehad a few days in the fifties this week, and it felt amazing.  Of course, we now have a few days of really cold weather ahead of us.

~Lily's favorite day of the week is Tuesday because she has Storytime at the library.  She was the only one who showed up last Tuesday (everyone else was probably at the park enjoying the warm weather), so they canceled Storytime.  She was so mad!

We came to Storytime and nobody else showed up. It's Lily's favorite activity of the week so she was not happy!

~Liam got sick again.  It was just a mild cold, but his nose would not stop running and he was snoring really loud at night.  You can never tell when he's sick! He's always so happy!

~We headed to the pediatrician for a quick check.  His ear cleared up from his recent ear infection, but he had a nasty sinus infection.  Big news, though!  My 2 1/2 year old finally hit 23 lbs!!!

He made it to 23.8 lbs and is rocking a sinus infection. Antibiotic round two!

~Lily turned 4 1/2 this week!  Because she has a summer birthday, they celebrated her half birthday at preschool.

Lily turned 4 1/2 today, so they celebrated her birthday at preschool. We continued the celebration with a #halfbirthday donut! ❤

~How much do you think it would cost to install one of these enclosed playrooms in my house?  It's pretty much soundproof, they can't escape, and I can see everything that they do.  Amazing! (It's the playroom at the family car dealership.  I need one!)

How much do you think it would cost to build one of these in my house? It muffles the noise, is completely child-proof and they can't escape. Getting the oil changed turned out to be the most peaceful hour in my life in a long time! Just keeping it real..

~We're getting into the Valentine's Day spirit!  Lots of heart-shaped food requests!

A Valentine's Day inspired breakfast for Lily today! ❤

~Liam finally moved up to a convertible car seat! He was so small that he still fit comfortably into his infant car seat, but just had a growth spurt in height, and he only had 1 inch to grow before he was too big for it.  I did so much research and we ended up with the Chicco NextFit Zip.  He's still rear facing and will be for a while.  I absolutely love the seat.  It was even easier to install than Lily's seat (which I love and thought was the easiest to install) and the zip off cover is a mom's dream!

My really short 23 lb dude got a car seat upgrade! He made it nearly 2 1/2 years in his infant car seat. He still had a while to go before reaching the weight limit, but he was 1 inch away from outgrowing it in height. At the rate he grows, he's still goi

~Dylan scored at the beginning of his basketball game on Saturday, and his confidence soared. This is his first year playing basketball, so his first game was literally the first time he ever played. He spent the past few games learning the rules and building skills, and was thrilled to get his first basket in a game! After that, he was all over the court and he played the best he has ever played.  He loves basketball, and I'm surprised by how much I love it, too!

After 5 years of baseball, I think Dylan finally found his sport. The first few games were spent trying to figure out the rules, because he never played before. Today, he played so well! He scored his first basket at the beginning of the game and his conf

~Saturday night was one of the first Saturday nights where we didn't have plans and everyone was at home!  It was nice!

~After the heartbreaking loss of her last parakeet, Lexie finally got a new one this weekend.  She is in love with her new parakeet, Sprinkles.  Pictures to come!

~Lily and I spent some quality one-on-one time together yesterday afternoon.  Grant and I work hard to make sure we each get time alone with each of our kids.  I love spending time with my sweet girl!  She helped me with the grocery shopping, then requested a trip to Target.  She left with new pjs and a bag of bubble gum and said I was the best mom ever!  Success!

With 4 kids, it takes a lot of arranging to have quality one-on-one time with each kid, but Grant and I make it a priority. Lily and I spent the afternoon together while her siblings stayed home with daddy. She helped me with the grocery shopping, then re

~We ended our weekend by watching the Superbowl.  This was the first year we didn't go to a party.  I honestly just watched for the commercials and did chores during the game! No shame!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  What's on your agenda this week?
