Reunited

Every year, on the first Saturday in August, my dad's side of the family gathers for a Family Reunion. 

We only see some of my family members once a year, so we always have a good time.  Last year, I was very pregnant at my reunion. This year, we had a new family member!



The weather was gorgeous when we arrived.  The kids had an epic water balloon battle until the first sound of thunder was heard.




The day turned cool and rainy, but we still managed to have fun! Well, kind of.  Lily was not a fan of playing games in the rain, and Lexie flat out refused.





It didn't take long for Lily to fall asleep in my mom's arms.  I made a makeshift bed on the ground, and slid her under a picnic table.  She happily slept for 3 hours. 



After she woke up, we gathered for a family photo.  This is just my Grandma's descendents.  And only half were at the reunion!  Note: Dylan was MIA with his cousins!



By the time dark fell, the kids were FREEZING.  Who am I kidding? I was, too!  They dried off, changed clothes, and warmed up in the car before returning to the picnic shelter.











I love my huge, crazy family!  One thing is certain:  we know how to have fun!

We returned home cold, damp, and tired.  We changed into pajamas and got ready for Lily's 3rd Birthday!  I snapped the last few pictures of my 2 year old before everybody went to bed!
